If I respond in an actual thread about meeting celebrities is everyone going to jump down my throat again for “name dropping”? Regardless...
Unsurprisingly, Paris Hilton and Mischa Barton were the only two truly rude, full-of-themselves celebrities I’ve ever worked with / met. Both were on photo shoots I was working on, and both threw child-like temper-tantrums in front of the whole crew. I even had to take Paris Hilton in a van off the property where we were shooting because she absolutely HAD to smoke a joint at 11 AM. For 15 minutes, Paris, her hair stylist and I sat in a windowless van on the side of the road in a Beverly Hills neighborhood while she talked sh*t about Linsday Lohan and, unlike Ice Cube, didn’t offer either one of us a hit (not that I necessarily would have taken one, but still).
Jeremy Piven was kind of an ass too, but I think it was just because he was tired the day we worked with him more than anything. The main thing I remember about him is that his hair stylist had to make absolutely certain that she could do his “hair” in a private, secluded room. I was confused at first, because I had never had that request before, but then I realized it was because he wears a toupee. He showed up in a hat on set, and since then - via an old Seinfeld cameo - I’ve learned that he’s basically bald underneath. Go figure.
And before he was “famous,” I used to live next door to Taran Killam from Saturday Night Live. As in, our front doors faced each other at our apartment complex, not more than a few feet apart. He wasn’t really rude at all so much as he was just straight up annoying. I can’t tell you how many summer days we would have our porch doors open in that air condition-less apartment - which also faced his porch - when he’d be out there loudly practicing various voices/characters and we’d rather shut our doors and sweat than have to listen to him anymore. At the time, to us, he was just another weird, aspiring actor-type. I hung out with him (and his much cooler) roommates a couple of times and Taran was one of those guys who would just break into some stupid voice mid-conversation. Drove me nuts. Ironically, he seems a lot cooler now than he did back then (like 2005-2007). Though, at the time, he was somehow dating (and now has a kid with) Cobie Smulders - of How I Met Your Mother and The Avengers fame - so seeing her fairly often was a nice consolation.
As for some of the nicest celebs I’ve worked with, Rebecca Romijn and Jerry O’Connell are, to this day, hands down two of the coolest, most down to earth celebs I’ve met. Brotron, had you not balked, you probably would have found Rebecca to be super-easy to talk to. Almost flirty. Not that she was flirting with me at all, but that was just her natural personality. And Jerry even helped me break down the set at the end of the day on the shoot we were doing with Rebecca (his wife), which is just something that never happens when it comes to “talent” on a shoot. Olivia Wilde, Kirsten Dunst, Aaron Eckhart, and Brett Favre all stand out as being super cool too, though, like Fslip01, pretty much every celeb I’ve worked with has been decently nice and/or professional, save for the few I mentioned up top.
