I ran into Billy Corgan before a show with no other fans around and got to chat with him for a few minutes. He was really nice and easy to talk to, which I appreciated because he has a reputation of occasionally being rude or dismissive to fans.

I think sometimes the approach and vibe of fans has a lot to do with the response of celebs. Hi, I appreciate your work and would like to chat VS. HI, OMG IS THIS REALLY HAPPENING CAN I HAVE A LOCK OF YOUR HAIR OMG OMG OMG

I guess in his case the lock of hair thing probably isn't going to happen.

I used to work with Jim Jeffcoat for a couple of years before he returned to coaching. He was always a classy and respectful guy.

One night, while having dinner in Houton, a man leaned over from the next table, and asked me my name. I told him, and though he didn't know me, he said I looked familiar. I told him he looked familiar too. He then introduced himself as Ernie Holmes, D Lineman for the Steelers during the Steel Curtain years. He and his wife were very nice and we talked the rest of our meal.

Sadly, not 3 weeks later, Iread in the newspaper that he had died in a car wreck the day before...

Jealous.

That was a huge one for me. Found the pic of Jonesy and me the other day. I need to get that scanned to my computer.

Ive met:
Iron Maiden - Great guys. Bruce Dickinson is somewhat intense. Hung out for a bit after a show.

The Scorpions - Great guys that loved to have a great time. Hung out for a bit after a show.

George Foreman - Ran into him at IAH and he was by himself. We almost bumped into each other. I realized who he was and said, "How are you doing Champ?" He said, "Every day is a great day! How are you?" Smile across his face the whole time.

My brother works in the movie and TV business for years and has met many, many actors and actresses. Some of his comments:

Phillip Seymore Hoffman is a grade A a$$eho!e. Drunk and mean on the set.

Marissa Tomei was cool and hung out with the crew. Apparently doesnt wear panties.

Kyra Sedgwick is ultra cool. Awesome lady and friendly and respectful to everyone.

Matthew Broderick was nice but a bore.

this should surprise no one. He just seems like an insufferable ****** to work with.

I'll give him credit...he picks good roles, but when it gets down to the legit actors, he doesn't hold a candle to the elite IMO.

Dear God. I would do dirty, dirty things to her.

And I love the Scorpions. Would love to meet them too.

Cub,

Jonesy always came off as the nice guy of the group. As much as I love the band (and I do), Plant and Page don't have the greatest of reputations as far as fan interaction go. But JPJ seems like a stand up dude.

to add to that....I had a very limited interaction with JPJ just before he joined Ben Harper and Questlove on stage at Bonnaroo 2007 for the Superjam...and he seemed like a real down to earth guy.

Seeing him do things like Them Crooked Vultures only adds to the mystique. I'm a huge Zep guy though, so I kinda see them all as royalty.

shark- Jonesy was very cool. It was after a show on his Zooma tour. About a dozen of us hung around and no one from the venue kicked us out, surprisingly. A roadie told us he'd probably come out and sign autographs so we hung out patiently. As they were packing up the gear I noticed one gear case beat to ****. Instead of John Paul Jones being stenciled on the side like all the others, this one said Led Zeppelin. I had to go over and touch it. When he finally came out I stepped up to shake his hand and say hello. He autographed my CD cover and then I stepped to the side to let everyone get a chance to meet him. Someone asked him about Plant and Jones said he wouldn't give his phone number to Robert. He said it with a bit of a smile so we all laughed. Then he showed this serious look on his face and said he wasn't joking. That was depressing to hear. But he hung out for a bit signing autographs and talking to us. Before he left I jumped back up front and he crouched down to take a picture with me. (He was on stage still.) Such an amazing experience.

Awesome.

Sounds like he's still sore about not being included in those Page & Plant shows from the 90s.

I really wish they would give it one last go round.

This is really lame compared to some but I and a couple of hundred Aggies were extras in Courage Under Fire. It was filmed at The GarycJob Corps center.

The day I was there the filmed the pool scene. Met Matt Damon. He was talking to a group of Aggies and talked about how he dropped out of Harvard with 1 year left. Was in School Ties and Geronimo. He said he was an extra on Field of Dreams and he appreciates the work that extras do and said if he was ever in a movie he wouldn't Hollywood anyone.

Good guy.

We shared a flight with Alec Baldwin from London to Rome. I wasn't sure it was him until he went to get his bags from the luggage carousel, which took forever. He wasn't really rude, but about like you'd expect. Some Italian teenagers went up and asked to take a photo, and he said he doesn't take pictures. When the bags finally came, we were walking out at the same time and I told him that I love 30 rock. He just said thanks and I kept on walking.

We were on vacation at the same place as Sienna Miller and Rhys Ifans (her boyfriend at the time). Both appeared high the whole time and were the biggest a-holes I've ever seen. Only good thing was that she would sunbathe topless on the beach and so we all got a good show each day (she was not shy about showing off her goods).

I met Pat Green while in college, I think a year or so after Geroge's Bar was released. He ended up showing my girlfirend (now my wife) and I around his tour bus and just sat and talked for a while after a concert. To this day, he is the only celebrity that I have met and spent a little time with and I could not have been more impressed with him.

P.S. Count me in for knocking around the guy who accused TCTTS of name dropping. I always enjoy listening to those stories / info.

I think a lot of the Texas Country guys are pretty solid. Had a chance to hang out with Creager for a few hours and he is about as personable a guy as you could meet. Didn't seem to matter where people are from he knew something about their town.

As for the other end, I met Jaimie Sharper working at the Cheesecake Factory in the Galleria in college. Dude got irritated because I wouldn't seat him ahead of the wait and dropped the do you know who I am. Had to tell him to ask for a manager who did seat him.

Met Luis Gonzalez there too. He seemed like a nice guy and had a really nice family.

Shawn Kemp was just a plain slob. Beyonce was really nice as was Kelly Rowland. Cynthia Cooper had no concept of how to behave in a restaurant. Mike Piazza was nice. Bobby Valentine was cool but almost got kicked out because he kept going into the kitchen to see how things were run. Steve Francis came in from time to time and you'd never even know he was there. Just always kept to himself. Nikki Syxx has manager drop his name for him but overall seemed like a decent guy.

Had no idea I'd see that many celebrities when I started working there. Mostly athletes because they stayed at the Westin.

I've met a few celebs and all have been pretty cool.

Had a buddy who lived in NYC and owned a memorabilia store and collected and sold celeb autographs.

He would hang out at the airport and get their autographs.

I asked him once who the NICEST celeb he ever met was.

Without batting an eye, he said Don Knotts.

That made me feel good!

I have had very few celeb run ins.

However, I did cross paths with Demarcus Ware at Target a couple of years ago. Signed an autograph for my son and he was a super nice guy.
