I used to love Pandora, but now I can't even get through two songs at work on my iPad without it "buffering" or whatever the f*** it does that makes it seems like the tracks are skipping. Looks I need to finally switch over to Spotify or Last.fm.

Pandora is ruined. Try slacker.
It's been spotty on my phone, but has performed well through my receiver at home lately. Only hiccup is there will sometimes be a 5-10 second pause between songs. And I question some of their song choices on certain stations.
works fine at my house. pandora is still the best way to find new music. i haven't used a service that can equal it.
Have pandora. love it. I listen to it at work and while running and I've never had it skip or any other problem.
More than likely this is a bandwidth issue for the OP.
I have Spotify on my Windows Phone, so maybe that "smart phone app" thing is going away.
Not sure what your issues are, but mine has been fine with HTC Droid and my desk top. Elaborate?

I find I just listen to the same thing over and over with Spotify as I'm never motivated to search, Pandora is much better at a number of things.

It's probably a bandwidth issue, as La Fours said, but it happens several times a day. Basically, a song will start playing, then pause for a few seconds, then continue playing, pause, etc. Really annoying...
I used to have several problems until the last update. Now I can listen to almost five songs before it buffers. Sometimes, when the Pandora gods smile down on me, I can get an entire run in with only one buffering.
Pandora works great for me...worked on Droid X, works on several iPhones...web version works as well.
That is your bandwidth issue. I use Pandora for ALL my music.. home car office. And have never had issues like that unless my internet was being clogged up with kid's streaming youtube and netflix and crap at home.
I use it on iphone 4 and win7 PC.

I am amazed at their music programming. I have directly bought many albums/songs because I hear things I liked but was not familiar with.
I use Spotify only when I want to listen to a specific artist or album.
I cannot recall a single time when Pandora halted due to buffering.

I go through phases where I listen to a lot of Pandora, and then don't open the app for a while.
Right now, I'm on a BIG Pandora kick. I love the random exposure to new (and old) music. With just enough Shiner Bock in my stomach and a Bose Soundlink on the back porch, I was amazed at how much I enjoyed the "No More Words by Berlin" station. Don't ask me how I got there, because I don't know myself.

I'm loving pandora, I do pay for it though as the $35 a year or so is worth skipping the ads for me. I stream it at work & off my tablet through the stereo by the pool. I haven't had any issues with it pausing at all.

The only thing I dislike about Pandora, besides some of the song choices, is the limit of 40 hours a month on mobile. Drowning out the noise in an open office makes 40 hours go by pretty quick.
why the hell would anyone pay for a service that limits your ability to listen to music?
spotify is amazing. I have no idea when they decided to charge for the mobile app, but i have had spotify since it started up in the US last year. Amazing music selection and i can download 3K songs without any problems. And it also syncs the music with my iphone on my macbook. Great service

I honestly don't see any value in Pandora since you can typically listen for free with the occasional ad, except the limiting on mobiel, but I also think that Spotify is priced around double what it should be. Hell, Netflix is only $8/month or whatever it is.

Google Music All Access has replaced both Spotify and Pandora for me.
The 40 hours/month limit on Pandora sucks, but I can't complain much since I don't pay for it. I just stream through Jango after I use up the 40 hours.
Spotify is too expensive. Other than that it is perfect. You can make radio stations out of spotify which some people here are not aware of.
Audio quality on spotify > pandora also. Bit rate is markedly higher i think, but haven't looked at Pandora bit rate lately.

Once Spotify released their radio feature, I completely stopped using Pandora. The one thing that I like about Spotify is that if I hear a song I like on the "radio," I can immediately jump to the album that it came from and listen to the entire album. Well worth the 10 bucks per month. I can't remember the last time that I actually purchased an album.

Spotify would he great it you could save artists and / or albums. Having to use playlists for everything is what drove me back to Rdio.
I'm trying the 30 day free trial to Google Play Music All Access, and have really been impressed. Probably will switch to it and cancel my Pandora subscription.
