Has anyone else received an invitation to the Cabelas After Hours party. This is the first time I have ever received this, says drinks and food are provided and I get an employee discount on everything that I buy. Just wondering if anyone has ever been to this and what it is like. It does not say what the discount percentage is, so does anyone work at Cabelas and know what kind of discounts the employees get?

  • Free Drinks
  • Employee Discount

ALL at Cabelas- Well I am jealous, sounds like a good time

ahhh, this hacks me off. just like the hardcover catalogue that all my friends get. I spend thousands of dollars at cabelas. i have and use a cabelas signature visa. etc etc etc.

but i have NEVER gotten the hardcover book. and I have never been invited to any parties. Maybe I should take the kick in the nuts and start shopping at bass pro.

I got an invitation also, but was curious what the discount was. I really do not need a lot right now, but if the discount is big enough I will make the drive down there.

I am assuming it is a cost plus type discount instead of a straight percentage off. So probably pretty good on clothes and cabelas brand stuff, but not much on big items, guns, or ammo.

Sorry to burst any bubbles here, but my dad went last week and it was disappointing. The discounts aren't known until you get to the register. He bought some reloading components and dies for me and the discount ranged from 5-10% max. One item wasn't even discounted.

Granted, reloading stuff and ammo are rarely discounted, but it just wasn't the deal of the year we were hoping for.

I'd expect the discount on softlines would be much better.

I knew there was a reason I'm friends with you. I'll give you my Christmas wish list at the game on Friday.

luck it appears. I know guys that spend a couple hundred and get one. I spend thousands and don't. A lot of people prefer the non hard back, but I want one just because....

Just got back from the after hours shopping at cabelas. Some deals were pretty good and the rest not so much. The discounts ranged anywhere from 10% to 25%. As mentioned earlier it was tricky because the things were not marked, so you either had to ask someone to look up the price for the discount or be surprised when you get to the checkout. I took aggieoilman with me and he got a couple of good deals, 15% off an Moultrie I-40 and got 10% off on a scope.
They also had free Shiner Bock and Bud Light, along with food and wine. The best part was they were pushing you towards the beer and wine when you first came in so you could get liquored up and then shop.
