So I ran across a Ted Williams Model 100 .30-30 this evening. Essentially it is a Winchester Model 94, made for Sears.

I know little about these, other than what I can google fu on them. Pricing seems to be all over the place.

What say ye, soothsayers of texags OB? What would one of these in 90% be? I am sadly
lacking a .30-30 in the inventory, so if I can determine if this is a good deal, I may petition the Wife and get it. Or ask for forgiveness. One of the two.

Easier to ask for forgiveness than ask for permission.

Do like I did when I got my glock and AR. Ask for forgiveness after.

I have one. I think I paid abou 200 in a pawnshop. I've never shot it though. It's one of many I need to go shoot.

Do like I do. Slide it in the safe and act like you have had it for some time.

+1

This has gotten a lot harder since we dropped to single income

Hrmm, $200 is less than I could realistically talk the guy down to. Is that about what they are worth?

I probably bought mine in 05 or 06 and the overall price of guns is inflated quite a bit since.

That being said there is a like new one on gun broker.com for 299$ and has not had a bid. Probably 350 after shipping and transfer fee

It was also in Alaska where the 30 30 is not a very popular round.

I could probably get it in the $250 - $275 range, but that's it. Not sure if its worth it or not, though from what I can tell they are exactly the same as a Winchester, save the rollmark on the barrel.

In case you missed my edit I bought in Alaska where the 30 30 does not sell well.

If you can get it for 250 than you are probably at a fair price

Once upon a time I purchased a shotgun the day before I got married as a gift to me. At a later date our first year of marriage the wife notice the gun asked when I got that. I told her that I have had that gun for quite some time and it was even before we got married. It worked.

fwiw schmellba I have a Ted Williams 30-06 from Sears. I've had it side by side with a Winchester Model 70 and it is completely indistinguishable other than the stamp.

Drive on - it should be indistingishable. They were made on the same tooling, from what I can tell. While I know its a great price for a winchester, it needs to be priced according to the sears roll mark (as silly as it is). I would love to pick it up, but don't want to over pay for what it is.

Sears never made any guns. They just got Winchester to make them and put the Sears name on them. That said I would not pay as much for one because it will hurt the resale value.
