As a Coles resident myself, I agree,most of the crime is very typical of most other neighborhoods in the area, I feel no less safe now, than when I moved in.

There were car break ins and burglaries in the neighborhood I grew up in, you just never heard of them unless it was through friends.

Now days with the internet, as soon as you roll through a stop sign or forget to signal, someone is on our subdivision yahoo page, whining about it. So, point being, that we hear about WAY more stuff than we ever used to, and it gives the effect of things "getting worse".

Not trying to make light of this particular situation, as it's very saddening, but I would be shocked if this was just a break in, there is way more to this.

Names of parents released but have to identify children by dental records. Police saying they can’t even identify what type of gun was sued and have no suspect. This looks more and more like a hired hit or some kind of organized crime. Whoever did this knew what they were doing and knew how to not get caught.

from my extensive watching of CSI reruns, wouldn't this indicate that the killers had removed the bullet fragments from the bodies after shooting them? If that's the case, then you are talking about some pros.

have they released a picture of the parents which could help public try to identify when/ if they had been seen last? Surely HCSO is tracking down any leads via social media that the parents may have linked to possible fear of life or dealings. Unless electronics were taken from the home.

Annoying facebook "friend" who lives in Coles Crossing (and is trying to soak up any residual drama/attention he can) posted that the father had some oil and gas patents including something related to exploding pipes...?

I, too, have extensive forensic and ballistic expertise that has been gained solely by watching TV. Applying this knowledge, I'm led to believe they were shot with hollow points which would lead to easy retrieval of the bullet casing thus preventing identification of the weapon used. It would also cause significant damage to warrant the need for dental records for identification.

It looks like who did this knew exactly how to do it. What's that saying regarding evidence left behind in a murder?

Has HCSO released pictures of the victims? If so, I haven't seen them. How would I know if I recall seeing something suspicious involving the victims if I don't even know what they look like?

I think they are trying to say that he was here for quite a while and most likely would've had enough money to have paid back a coyot or this would've happened long before now. .

The problem with a coyote theory is that it isn't good for business when you knock of the one you are getting money from. I'd think at least the one they were looking for money from would still be alive.

I seriously doubt someone who went to U of Texas and has a PhD, needs a coyote to get him into the country. His linkedin says graduated in 1998, which means he must have been scooped up by employers who were hiring left and right back then.

This is like something out of Lethal Weapon 4. I'm thinking this family was collateral damage for someone screwing over the wrong person

When I was in highschool at cy fair, a classmate of mine, his dad, and brother were found tied up with phone cords and shot execution style in copperfield when the mom and daughter came home. No obvious motive. To my knowledge, never solved.

Nope. 21 years ago, Suburban caucasians. Name was Woodley. It was kind of a shock. One day, he was gone from class, never to return.

I heard a rumor (not from any reliable source) that the police had reason to believe the deaths were related to a gambling ring. Allegedly, said ring was being run out of the Shell station at BarkerCypress/SpringCypress.

A shell station shut down on that corner recently. A churches fried chicken too. Run by middle eastern folks.

It's probably because it's typical that these sort of things happen in the Asian underworld. I have a friend who had class with a young Vietnamese guy. They only found his Lexus at a carwash. Word was he owed people money. They never found him.

I'd believe Chinese corruption over a gambling debt though. Doesn't make sense to kill the children like that over some change.

I grew up in Cypress Fields, north of there, and that corner gas station was the ONLY gas station within biking distance when I was a kid. I don't remember it seeming shady back then. Maybe the ownership has changed.
