Headed to PHX next weekend for Spring Training. Gonna bring my clubs and play 1-2 times.

Already have 1 tee time schedule at Union Hills Country Club in Sun City, AZ with some of my dad's buddies.

Looking for somewhere in close proximity to Scottsdale Stadium as I'm going to see a San Francisco game in the afternoon.

I'd prefer to keep this reasonably priced but all suggestions are welcome. Again somewhere within 10-15 minutes of Scottsdale Stadium would be my preference.

Troon North. Easily tops in my book.

If you can't play there, Greyhawk or WeKoPa.

TPC Scottsdale Stadium course was cool, especially bc it's a PGA stop. But it's not your typical picturesque Arizona golf.

But Troon is in a class of its own, IMO. Hard to mess up Scottsdale golf.

Not sure what you consider reasonably priced, but for me, reasonably priced and Scottsdale do not go hand in hand when it comes to golf. As the above poster mentioned Troon is great, but you will pay $200 plus.

I haven't played it, but I'd try golf club at Estrella... I've heard good things, and it's more reasonably priced right now, as you can play an afternoon round for under $100

There's plenty of reasonably priced golf in Scottsdale. Unfortunately, it's not reasonable until May/June once the snowbirds have returned home.

If you're looking for something 10-15 minutes from Scottsdale Stadium, I'd check out Papago Golf Course or the ASU Karsten course. If you can stretch that 10-15 to 20-25 minutes, Talking Stick would be a good option too. It'd be easy to get to the stadium by taking the 101 to Indian School Rd.

Yeah, my reasonably priced comment was taking into consideration that he/she is wanting to play next week.

just did trip hitting the above plus greyhawk, and we ko pa. I'd recommend them all. boulders and Blackstone were prob at top. the two troon courses are solid as we'll. skip tpc

So, how is the nightlife and bar/restaurant scene in Scottsdale? Any recommendations?

i played Troon North Pinnacle two weeks ago. Awesome course, i recommend.

Matsui, re: the nightlife and restaurants....

I didn't really do the nightlife, went on a trip with my pregnant wife and we stayed at the four seasons. We ate at the following restaurants and I would recommend them all.

Talavera (restaurant at the four seasons, i had the sea bass. it was amazing)

Mastro's (Steakhouse) - best steak I've probably had, beats anything in houston

I would probably avoid the top three though if on a guys trip, these are more couple oriented. However, Mastro's (there are several scottsdale locations, we ate at the steakhouse one in Scottsdale vs. their ocean prime concept) would be a great atmosphere for a guys dinner if looking for good cocktails, wine and steaks.

The best food I've ever had on vacation was in Scottsdale. Concierge gave us stellar recs...can't remember em all now though.
