Made it to todays practice round. TV doesn't do it justice. Colors were crazy, elevation changes crazy, slopes in the greens crazy. What was most impressive to me was the efficient way the whole place operated. There were people everywhere with Masters uniforms on, and they could not be more polite or helpful.

Anyone know what those black mats on the tees are for? I've seen them before but never asked. Searched it and no satisfactory answer.

The blackmats are to prevent ppl from teeing off from those spots during practice rounds.

They already have the various tee boxes planned for the week, so they cover them to keep them divot-free.

Great pics. I took the family for our first trip to Augusta Monday. We were on the grounds for 45 minutes before the siren sounded. We crossed 1, 9 and were walking down 18 and had to leave. Will try again next year.

12 and 13 look pretty light on azaleas around the green? Not to nit pick, its gorgeous, but missing the signature pink azaleas

I was there for the Tuesday practice round. It was amazing. Serious question here... Do they vacuum the grass? It was perfect. Even after all of that rain on Monday.

The roar from Weir's hole in one was crazy. I couldn't imagine a Sunday roar from a larger crowd.

from that view of the 6 tee box you cannot even imagine how steep that hill is at the end of the tee box.

There are are hundreds of people walking through there at all times. The players on the tee never see them.

I know they blow everything that is left behind after the mowers and they catch all clippings. So I would image that its really clean
