Just wandering if any of you have played or heard of any good courses for my son and I to play while on vacation in New Mexico specifically Sante Fe, Taos, or Red River area?

Closer to Albuquerque, but south of Santa Fe, I really like the Twin Warriors golf course at the Tamaya resort.

Have heard good things about Buffalo Thunder as well.

Angel Fire is fun.

There is an ABSURD par 3 where the hole is like 100 feet below the tee box.

I think this is it at the top of the page:

Does Red River even have a course (not counting putt-putt) ?

Paa-Ko Ridge is nice and has some great views. Its near Albuquerque. Black Mesa north of Santa Fe just outside of Espanola. Interesting course - pretty tricked up. Blind shots, uphill/downhill lies....

Marty Sanchez in SF is ok - muni so its not always in the best of shape.

I played at the Buffalo Thunder Resort a couple of years ago and it was a lot of fun. One of the nines had an island green par 3 which was pretty sweet.

I love Buffalo THunder (Towa is the course name). The views are amazing, and the course is in pretty good shape.

Tao in Santa Fe:
27 holes
close to town
nice course
not too difficult
next to casino
beer girls

Black Mesa:
great condition
hard as hell
middle of nowhere
no beverage cart
Did I mention it's hard as hell?

I also played Isleta years ago and really enjoyed it. It is south of Albuquerque on I25.

Also, I've always heard good things about the UNM course.

That looks like just about every other hole at the 2 courses I played a couple of weekends ago around Ruidoso. I thought Inn of the Mountain Gods had some drastic elevation change, until we played The Outlaw at Alto Lakes. Seemed like every hole on that course was 50-100 feet in elevation change. For some reason, I didn't take the time to take any pictures...

The unm course is fun.

Haven't played many of the north courses.

Love golfing near ruidoso!

I do not mind the elevation changes, might be kinda cool, if the golf carts can handle them. I am a 4 handicap and my son is close behind so we do not mind some difficulty and pretty views so mountains, cliffs, canyons, twin peaks, etc. are a bonus.
