I had a bout 2-3 years ago. Popping 2 Aleve prior and icing after kept me going for a while, but I eventually took a month off to rest and that really resolved it. I did also ice it almost nightly while I was resting. It hasn't recurred.
I got this even when I was 19 or 20 before I changed my grip to an overlapping on the advice of a club pro. Not sure how to help once it's going on other than suggesting a few weeks rest, but it could help prevent it in the future. Keep in mind, I have no idea if that has a science behind it or it was just coincidence... Just anecdotal evidence.
Taking a couple weeks off of golf and lifting weights are the only things that have helped me. And I had it really bad as I broke my arm at the elbow years ago...to the point where my backswing was completely jacked and I might as well have been a beginner.
A doctor may advise against this, and it may be counterproductive for some, but hitting the gym and lifting some weights has helped provide more immediate relief than just resting FOR ME. Running has helped too.

If you played one of the best rounds ever, you might look back to see if the pain caused you to slow down your swing any or shorten it? It may not be such a bad thing. Hope it gets better.
Get an elbow brace at the drug store. Immediate relief w/ no pain.
I found that I gripped the club too hard, corrected that and the pain eventually went away.
Inside or outside of elbow? I ask cause lots of folks really get confused in difference between tennis or golfer elbow.
Unless you play a ton of golf or practice a lot, its something your doing when not playing. For example, I'm on my computer every day 8 to 9 hours, using the mouse with only right arm was causing a lot of my pain. I changed to left handed mouse and my elbow pain subsided. Just a thought.
try 1 tsp baking soda in a glass of water each night for 4 nights (drink it). It changes your body pH and releases the gas bubbles that are caught up in your elbow tendons. I scoffed at it when I read it on here years ago but tried it anyway....worked like a charm.
Call it Voo-Doo medicine, but I had the same thing many years ago and had a customer tell me about the Sabona Magnetic Bracelet. Said to wear it for 6 weeks and the pain would be gone. The pain was gone in 4 weeks and never has come back. I never take it off. Take it for what it's worth.
