Has anyone ever played this course? Looking for options for some golf within reasonable driving distance from Athens. Ive reached out to Athens CC, and Pinnacle Club. Just curious if anyone has any experience with the facility

Tight and short.

Haven't played it in 7-8 years, so not sure of condition.

Several holes with ponds/water that require a lay-up off the tee (think maybe 15/16). Some holes you may want to drive down and look at before teeing off.

Pine Dunes just down the road in Frankston. Twin Lakes just south of Canton.

I reached out to Pine Dunes, I know the grow in superintendent. They werent going to have anything open for around the time we were thinking of playing. My in laws literally live within a quarter mile of Athens CC so Im waiting to hear back from them if we can get on.

Twin Lakes we have played, trying for something different. But we may end up there if all else fails.

Play a charity scramble at twin lakes every year... Not a bad back up if you don't go to pinnacle.

Also, without a member you can't get a tee time at the Athens CC... But I wouldn't feel like you're missing out. Last charity thing I played there the course was not in the best condition at all. It will be nice in a few months though.

Athens CC followed through, had the opportunity to speak with the GM there and she was gracious enough to let us on. Literally can walk out front door of my inlaws and it's a 1/4 from the porch to the course, very convenient for us. They punched greens last week and are working on a few tee boxes but as a superintendent, I'm not concerned at all. We see it every time we drive in to town to the house, looks to be in great shape, looming forward to playin it.
