Surprised there's no thread for this tourney yet. Well with about an hour left today, after having charged all day long, Kuchar 3-putted from 4 feet. Looked like a regular old TA golfer out there.

Luke Donald is looking real solid. Love his game.

Well. 3-putt 17 from 4 feet, followed by a bunker shot birdie on 18. Holy crap. Love this golf course. Leader with Donald 1 down on hole 15.

Kuchar and Donald are two of my favorites. Glad to see Kuchar close it out.

In my eyes, Kuchar's nerves under pressure have been completely exposed over the past month. I didn't know he was such a choker. In fact, he always seemed like a cool, calm guy.

He sorta beat those demons today...

I see your point, but I still disagree. Choked up on 17. Missed green on 18 (granted, tough shot). And then got bailed out by luck. To me, there is nothing clutch about holing a shot from off the green. It takes a significant amount of luck. Nerves don't really come into play.

Let me ease off that a little. Hitting a good bunker shot does take skill and I guess even a small amount of nerves, but holing it is luck.

However, I think bunker shots have to be one of the least "chokeable" shots in golf, bc you're trying to hit it fat and the margin for error is so much greater than on most shots. Short putts, on the other hand, are more likely to expose you, bc it's a small stroke and you bring the twitchy little muscles into play.

So the putts on 17 were much more telling than the sand shot on 18, imo.

I'm happy that Kooch won. I can't imagine many people dislike the guy. I'm just saying that my personal perception of his game has changed recently.

You have to factor in he only had to beat Donald, the world's most overrated player.

I was pulling for Donald myself. Was down when that approach flared right on 18.

I mean Kuchar "beat the demons" because he got the W, even with the rinky dink last 2 holes. Not saying that he's clutch by any means here. Just saying a W has to knock the big fat gorilla off his back some. Now it's just a little spider monkey.

Somewhat classic Luke Donald the past two weeks. Nowhere to be found at Augusta, but he'll be right in the thick of it at someplace like the RBC the next week.

I'll be in Hilton Head this week. Probably not playing Sea Pines bc it is expensive. maybe I'll put on my tartan jacket and just hang out at the lighthouse, blend in.
