I would go with Phil, Keegan, and Tiger outside the top 9. Hoping Phil jumps Reed so that I can leave choke-wearer at home and bring Zach Johnson.

I'll take ZJ over Keegan, that dude just can't seem to calm down, and I don't think most enjoy playing with him. Wasn't it dufner that said that just a few weeks ago?

Keegan and Dufner are good friends. It was Kaymer who said that I believe. The 3 of them were paired together the first 2 rounds for the US Open.

It's the ****ing Ryder cup, you need some wild cards out there (Keegan).

I'd personally get Kevin Na to play and pair him up with another deliberate player. they'd win all the team events just out of the European playing partner's frustration. **** it, Keegan and Kevin Na as teammates. that's 4 points right there.

I would pair Na against a Euro that likes to play fast.

gotta say I'm really surprised at the dislike towards Keegan. He has a real fire and loves the team competitions. He's worked on the spitting thing and while quirky, he's not one you always hear about being slow or put on the clock. what am I missing here?

I like the idea of keeping Keegan/Phil and ZJ/Dufner together. Those pairings seem to work.

Furyk and Walker seem like a natural fit for foursomes. Both are consistent. Good to pair a vet like Furyk with a first timer like Walker too..

I like Watson and Fowler together in four ball. Both have Ryder Cup experience, can make alot of birdies and are good friends off the course.

Then you have Tiger, Spieth, Kuchar and DJ. The Tiger/Kuchar combo worked well at the Presidents Cup, but DJ/Kuchar worked well at Medinah.

Personally, I'd love to see a Tiger/Spieth pairing. I think it's time Tiger take on a role of veteran leader and maybe playing with a younger, more fiery player like Spieth will give him a boost (like Mickelson with Bradley in 2012). And I think Spieth would rise to the challenge of playing with Tiger.

Great post Deluxe

Spieth would be good with Tiger because he is one of the only players on tour that is great at making spectacular shots out of trouble. Its not a knock on tiger but his driver play has been wildly inconsistent over that last several years.

Good point Harry. For that reason, I wouldn't be opposed to sitting Tiger out of foursomes.

I would not even consider Tiger as a Ryder Cup player until he shows that he is healthy and consistently play. I would focus on the other guys for now.

I don't think it's an outlandish assumption that Tiger will be healthy in October. It's June and he's already back playing in tournaments.

If he's not healthy enough to play, I agree that he shouldn't be on the team.

Tiger is right at a 50% winner in the Ryder Cup and no one fears him anymore. But if he's playing well , he'll be on the team.

Tiger and Spieth paired together Thursday and Friday. They played together at Torrey Pines too.

I read that 4,600 points is projected to be the magic number to make this year's team.

Reed would get very close to that number with a win today.
