anyone going?

I'm not, but played it and wasn't impressed at all...I'll be playing English Turn next time I'm in NOLA.

I've played TPC Louisiana twice (once in sept and once a month before the tourney) and both times the green conditions were muni at best. Pretty awful, even the fairways were mediocre.

I find this hard to believe. Why would the tour play at a place that was "muni at best?"

Not really hard to believe when they let us play for a 75% discount cause they knew they were so bad.

Also, believe it or not, some tour courses go thru stretches where they are pretty rough at times. So yeah, the greens were muni like the first time I played there. They had just sanded and punched them the week before, and they didn't roll them or mow them the day we played.

Played there two years later, they were ok then but much slower than you would expect from a course that cost $150+. I mean MUCH slower.

I played it with Cab both times and the first time they were complete trash. In fact a member joined up with us as a single around the turn and he was pretty pissed. We complained and I think we got half our money back, maybe more. The second time they were OK, but not better than the average public course in Houston.

I actually did like the layout though. But it still wasnt anything special. They did have a couple cool holes.

Interesting. Surprising because I've played a few other TPC courses and they were always top notch.

Anytime I can watch pro's shape shots around a course i'm down. Throw in some beer and eye candy and you have yourself what I like to call a good time.

Speaking of which, cannot wait for the Colonial and the Byron Nelson here in DFW!

Ditto that. I'd love to see him and Erik Compton in the last group on Sunday.

Jeebus......Ben Martin is -3 after 3 holes on today's round. This after he set the course record yesterday.

Dude has come out of nowhere, almost won at the Heritage last week. Wonder if he can stay hot and post an insane 36 hole total, still a lot of golf to be played today though.

Sometimes guys come out of the woodwork like this...I remember Billy Andrade doing nothing and then all of a sudden winning two tour stops back to back in the early 90's, never to really be heard from again.

Glad I'm not the only one who thought that TPC LA was a really well kept muni course. Not impressed with the layout, greens were fuzzy and not real fast, bunkers around the greens were weirdly small. Customer service was great and the breakfast burrito was awesome...
