Anyone played out there recently? The last time I was in Lajitas was before the flood and before the redesign of the course. Heading out there in early June. From the pictures and videos I've seen, it looks amazing. Anyway, thought I'd see if anyone on here knew anymore about it. A friend is booking it but I'm assuming 18 will run around $100.

I played it a couple times in spring of 2011. It's absolutely beautiful. Amazing layout, you tee of from enormous heights on some holes. There is one par three that I hit a PW stiff from about 175 due to hitting off the cliff.

The course was absolutely bone dry then, and the greens were just dirt with some dead grass. I think Kelce Warren has done a large renovation to place since then, however.

I played last summer and it was in great shape. Everything was really green. The fairways and tee boxes are like carpet. Greens roll very slow, but they can't cut them too short or they'd die I imagine. Some really cool holes and awesome views. There's one par 5, #8 I think, and when you hit your drive from the elevated tee, it seems as if your ball will never come down.

That's what I like to hear. I'm really looking forward to the elevation changes. Sounds like several holes require to play 1 or 2 clubs down due to elevations. That in and of itself presents a fun challenge.

it will probably be dead when you're there. We went at the end of June too and it's pretty hot that time of year. Just get an early tee time and you'll be fine.

One of the best tracks in Texas. Great design, mix of holes in the mountains and down in the valley, and always been in fantastic shape every time I've played. You won't be disappointed.

If I'm ever in that part of Texas again I'll try to remember this course. Problem is it's outta the dang way!

It is a long way out in the middle of nowhere. They have their airport setup pretty nicely now if flying is an option for you. We are about a 1.5 hour flight in my single engine plane. It'd take us around 7 hours to drive it because of the lack of any sort of direct route on roads. If we enjoy it as much as we are thinking we will, a group of us might look into their membership and start flying out several times a month.

This course is on my golf bucket list. Very intrigued to see in person.
