So Sunday afternoon I pair up with a foursome on #1 with a group of guys I hardly play with. They asked if I wanted to play $6/$9 wolf with handicaps and I said sure. To make a long story short I wasn't playing well on the first six holes and my partners seemed to not play well either when paired with me so through six holes I have yet to win one. Well thankfully I push 7 and win 8 and two of the guys who are about $40 up decide they only want to play nine. I didn't call them out on not playing a full 18 but I felt it was shady to call it early and still expect a payout. What say you texags?

They can pound sand as far as I'm concerned. I'll pay up on the bet when the bet is complete.

next time i'm winning a sports bet at halftime, i'm going to try and cash in the ticket and see how that plays out.

Rule #1 in golf bets, if your game is designed for 18 holes play them all or ABC(all bets cancelled). Only thing that could be paid was skins if you were playing that, but wolf bets should have been nixed.

Tell them to go get a tan in a green side bunker.

Completely shady. I probably would have gone ahead with the high road and offered to pay anyway, but I also would have called them on it so they knew it was BS.

03 , heck i think i would have told these guys that the bet was based on an 18 hole match , leaving after 9 means they are conceding the back 9 and owe you money. We should always honor our bets , the right way.Their move was bush league.

So the consensus is it was shady. I have little doubt they wouldn't have pressed me for the $32 I owed if I called them out, but $32 isn't worth getting into a pissing match over. Just remember who they are the next time so when i'm up at nine i'm going to split.

Holy hell, I can't believe you actually paid up. If I started a game with someone I didn't even know and had to skip out after 9 holes, I wouldn't ask to be paid — even if I was up $40.
