For those of you have been to Augusta before, where did you stay for a hotel or what would you suggest. Thinking of heading our there early or maybe staying late at either Hilton Head, Charleston, or Savanna. Any suggestions or tips would be much appreciated.

You gotta get pretty far out of Augusta before prices become reasonable, IIRC.
I stayed in Athens. Really nice college town.
Stayed at America's Best Inns & Suites in Grovetown, GA and golfed at Bartram Trail Golf Course in Evans, Ga.
Always stayed at the Baymont inn and suites in Augusta. If you can get your call in early, it's a great spot. Ten minutes from the course.
We stay in Aiken, easy drive from there.

Stayed at the Quality Inn just off the main drag onI 20. It was an absolute $#!? HOLE. $252 a night for monday and tuesday. If my wife and daughter inlaw had been with us, I wouldn't have let them sleep in the room. If I get to go again, I'll stay in SC.
I stayed in Athens on Sunday night, got to Augusta about 8:30 Monday morning. Stayed in a house the rest of the week.

Anyone play any golf anywhere around the coast that they would suggest? We are doing the Masters on Wednesday then beach/golf Thursday and Friday. Sea pines is out since Harbour town is closed and the other courses are already booked.
