If I start a thread, can you "ruin" that one too?

Yes, we can ruin that one too.

And from the link provided

Guinness Guinness Draught 4.0 ABV 125 10

This is what most people drink when they say Guinness. Maybe people think it is something heavy, but if you actually drink it you will realize it is not.

No kidding.

I wasn't that mad, 92! Just some random thread on the TA golf forum. Felt like a Thursday morning red face post though, because I keep thinking it's Friday.

You guys are overlooking the point that 92TXAG is making.

GMAC is from N. Ireland and is most likely tilting back Guinness Stout in his homeland and drinking something similar over here.

Here is some information relative to the Irish brewed Guinness Stout:

Actually not over-looked. It was already addressed. Most places carry Draught, not stout. So most likely it was draught as already discussed.

And that means that 92TXAG's link shows that not only is the "MOTOR OIL" not that potent, but Miller Lite, Coors Light and Bud Light are higher in Alcohol. Even Michelob Ultra is higher.

Or, alternatively, a multi-millionaire PGA Professional and celebrity is delivered the beer of his choice, which most resembles his favorite brew from his home country.

Nawww...makes too much sense.

Carry on.

Speaking of motor oil, if someone wants to drink some, try out Great Divide Yeti Imperial Stout.

http://greatdivide.com/beer/year-round/yeti-imperial-stout/

That stuff pours out of the bottle like molasses.

I'm not doubting he was drinking it. But, Extra Stout is 6.0% where he was claiming he was drinking something 7.0%.

But, saying Guinness and referring to Extra Stout is like saying Bud and referring to Bud Select.

I really don't care what he drinks. It just rubbed me wrong calling out someone else for saying Guinness is low because what 99% of people refer to as Guinness is low.

Now, let's get back to the thread.

The Extra Stout version you are referring to is only sold in foreign countries, so that would not be his drink of choice in his native land.

Guinness Draught, sold in kegs, widget cans, and bottles: 4.1 to 4.3% alcohol by volume (ABV); the Extra Cold is served through a super cooler at 3.5 °C (38.3 °F).

Guinness Original/Extra Stout: 4.2 or 4.3% ABV in Ireland and the rest of Europe, 4.1% in Germany, 4.8% in Namibia and South Africa, 5% in the United States and Canada, and 6% in Australia and Japan

So if GMAC drinks the Extra Stout in his home Country it is 4.2 or 4.3.

And that makes it equal to Coors Light, Bud Light and Miller Light.

You sure about that, Clark?

You read your link right and the information I provided, right?

Guinness Foreign Extra Stout - Since it is brewed in Ireland, this is the product that is usually exported - That it why they call it Foreign.

In Ireland and Europe, Guinness Original - Extra Stout is what is usually sold when it comes to the Extra Stout and it is 4.2 or 4.3 in Europe.

The Foreign Extra Stout is what you linked.

Guinness Foreign Extra Stout: 7.5% ABV version sold in Europe, Africa, the Caribbean, Asia, and the United States. The basis is an unfermented but hopped Guinness wort extract shipped from Dublin, which is added to local ingredients and fermented locally. The strength can vary, for example, it is sold at 5% ABV in China, 6.5% ABV in Jamaica and East Africa, 6.8% in Malaysia, 7.5% in the United States, and 8% ABV in Singapore. In Nigeria a proportion of sorghum is used. Foreign Extra Stout is blended with a small amount of intentionally soured beer. (Formerly it was blended with beer that soured naturally as a result of fermenting in ancient oak tuns with a Brettanomyces population. It is now made with pasteurized beer that has been soured bacterially.) It was previously known as West Indies Porter, then Extra Stout and finally Foreign Extra Stout

Guinness Draught is the most popular (even in Europe)
Guinness Original is the next popular (4.2 or 4.3)
Guinness Foreign Extra Stout is a less popular version and not likely to be what he drinks.

McDowell doesn't even serve Foreign Extra Stout at his own restaurant. He serves Irish Guiness Stout which is 4.2% ABV according to the drink menu.

Doesn't matter anymore since other posters have already made everything clear....

But, no this doesn't make any sense. People are talking about seeing players at a bar and seeing Gmac drinking at a bar, not that they saw gmac drinking in his back yard. Don't think he'd have beer delivered to a bar he decided to go to one night.

With consideration to the poster who initially brought up GMAC (92TXAG), I wouldn't be so sure that it was a local DFW bar GMAC was drinking at.

Dustin Johnson looks more like the GHB and coke type. I can't see him being a heavy boozer though.

Geez! I take off to ride to the top of Bristal-Head & back and this is still being fed...

Damn, a few of you sound as much fun to drink with as you would be to golf with...yes, much sarcasm implied...

Guys, I wish I had so few problems to continue to bicker over this...I'm out on this thread. Flame away.

I'm going to go have a drink! And no, it won't be the "motor-oil" GMAC guzzles...

Fuzzy could drink any of the current pros under the table. He was good friends with John Daly for years if that's any indication.
