So I've been thinking about joining a club and I've heard a bit about ClubCorp's young executive package and their ONE package.

I live in Dallas and there are a lot of courses to play that participate (GE, Prestonwood, Canyon Creek, Brookhaven, etc.)

Does anyone have one of these memberships? It's being advertised at $1k initiation and $254 a month for dues.

Someone posted on this a couple of weeks ago and i went back and copied my post from there. I'm a member at Stonebridge Ranch in McKinney, but not a ONE member. I'll probably be starting the ONE membership soon.

Hopefully this answers your questions. If not, let me know and I'll try to get you anything else you need. There may be some information in there that you don't need, I just don't want to go through and edit all that.

quote:
1. I was reading about the under 40 "new executive" membership. Do you get the same benefits of a full membership?

Yes, with some added benefits. I am able to go play at about 10 other clubs in the area with no additional fees. This helps as I live in East Dallas and sometimes its tough to get up to McKinney after work for a quick round. The only discernable difference is that we can't tee off before 10 on weekends (may be week days too, can't remember). Off the top of my head I can tell you that Canyon Creek, Prestonwood (both courses), Brookhaven, Hackberry, La Cima, Oakmont, Shady VAlley, Trophy Club, and Walnut Creek are part of the package.

2. With that said, what are the benefits of a full membership? I would hope free use of all facilities (free golf, free driving range, free tennis, free access to the pool, etc).

As far as I remember, yes to all. At all of the facilities. Can't swear on Tennis Priveleges, but I'm pretty sure they are included.

3.Do you get these same benefits at non "home" courses (let's say at Brookhaven)? I assume it's a reduced level of benefits but how reduced?

As far as I know yes. No reductions to speak of, unless you upgrade to the ONE membership. That gets you 50% off of food at your home club, but not any others

4. I think I read membership for the under 40 deal is $1000 up front plus $250ish per month, is that right?

They waived our $1,000 initiation fee to $100, but they also gave us back a $100 credit to anything at the club, so essentially inititiation fees were fully waived. I can't speak to individual club, but at SBR we pay $274.00/month and with taxes it comes to about $300

5. Do country clubs typically provide any sort of child care?

ours has a kids room, but no child care to speak of. Could be different at Brookhaven

6. If I want to bring a friend, do they get to play for free as well?

Absolutely not. Again, the fees vary from club to club, but guest fees at my home club are about $120/pp with cart

7. If my father in law wants to play on a day where I am not there, can he play free? Is this different for if he is going to my home course vs another clubcorp course?

not really sure about the home course issue, but if they aren't in your immediate family, they are not part of your memebership. I don't know if the reciprocating course stuff is part and parcel to a full membership. To my knowledge it isn't. If your father in law wants to play at your home course I think you need to be there and he has to pay a guest fee. (Side-note: get to know your club pro and this may not be an issue. In my experience at my old club there are ways around this)

one more thing. I saw that you mentioned GE. Im not 100% sure if you are referring to Glen Eagles, but if so, it is not included in the YEX package.

You can get the YEX with ONE (or at least I did signing up at Kingwood CC).

Tres,

I'm about to join YEX at Stonebridge Ranch. Have you been enjoying the membership?

FYI on the YEX you cannot make a tee time for 10 or 11 on the weekends. You can play with other members if they book the time but you yourself cannot book the time. I am not sure how strict they are on this rule but it was the one restriction that turned me off of it.

Eric,

You are welcome to get a full membership with full dues and get access to those early times.

I have YEX and love it. Hell of a deal at my particular club.
