I am in my third season of playing golf as I played for the first time in January 2012, age 26. I define each year as a season.

2012 goal was to break 100, which I accomplished. I believe by the end of that season I broke 100 50% of the time. First time was probably around May.

2013 goal was to break 90, which I did twice. First time was July (1.5 years into playing)

2014 I really did not have a goal, as I did not think my game was good enough to break 80 and I didn't want to put in the time to get my game there. I just wanted to be more consistent. Crazy thing is I have shot 81-84 6 of the last 10 rounds, so my mind is thinking breaking 80 is reachable by me...too bad I haven't played in 3 weeks!

I have been playing for 47 years , started when I was 9 years old on a par-3 course named Pitch-n-Putt in Austin.
Currently play to about a 8 handicap.I actually tell myself that my par is 82.It makes it fun , when I shoot 78 I'm -4.
Broke 100 when I was 12
Broke 90 when I was 12
Broke 80 when I was 14
Never have broke 70

Been playing for about 6 or 7 years now. First goal to break was 100, which I have accomplished, next was to break 90 which I'm still on. I think I'll one day break 90 but probably not ever 80, and I'm ok with that. Golf isn't my number one hobby so I refuse to pay for lessons, I'm 100% self taught although I did take golf 2 with Bob Ellis as my kine class at A&M and it's definitely what helped me get below 100.

How long have you played? about 7 years ago

When did you break:

100 - can't remember
90 - September 16, 2010
80 - August 24, 2014 to win my flight at the club championship (stay tuned, TexAgs)
70 - seems really far away

First time I broke 90 I decided to save the golf ball and write the score, date, and course on it. Now every time I shoot a new low number I do the same thing and put it in my golf ball display case I have in my office.

Been playing since I can remember, but really started playing when I was maybe 8-10, chipping and putting with grandpa, dad, brother and uncle. Then actually playing full 18 when I was around 12-13.

Broke 100 at 12-13
Broke 90 at 14
Broke 80 at 16
Broke 70 at 23, really cannot remember the date but I remember the round. Holed out on 10 for eagle to get me to -1 and finished with 2 more birdies on 16&18.

I don't remember the timeline, but I started playing in 1981/82. Broke 70 first time in 1988, so 16 yrs old.

Long stretch until my next sub-70 round though...probably 10 yrs.

I shoot in the 60s a couple of times a year now.

Think I started playing at 9 or 10.

Don't remember when I broke 100, 90, or 80.

Broke 70 from the tips at age 14.

Been going backwards ever since.

Strangely out of all of those I only remember the first time I broke 80. I was probably 12 and it was at 'The Links' in New Mexico. Shot a 77 with my dad.

I grew up playing with some real good players including two who have played or currently play on the PGA tour and another five or six that played D1. I could beat them pretty consistently until we got to high school. But while they we working on their short game I was in two a days or doing bad things that high school kids are known to do. By the time we were seniors most of them were clearly better than me or getting real close. The guys that ended up being pros were miles better at that point.

I did have one final last hurrah my senior year losing in a playoff in a two day tournament that most of them played in. But I lost on the first hole of the playoff to a guy that had a full scholarship to a then SWC school. It was seven years before I hit another competitive shot.

I almost went and chased it at JUCO or a Southland school and had an outside walk on shot at another SWC school. But I decided, smartly I might add, to come to A&M. Left my clubs at home. Right decision.

Been playing for around 30 years.

Started around 7 or 8 playing with my dad, grandpa, uncle, and later on with my younger brother (who can now whip my ass on the course...most of the time).

Broke 100 for the first time with my grandpa when I was probably 11 or 12. I shot an 88, so it was also the first time I broke 90. Realized a few years later when I played the same course again that it was a par-68, but I don't care.

Don't remember the first time I broke 80 for some reason, but was probably when I was 17 or 18, when I started getting serious and playing a lot.

Shot under par for the first time when I was 29 or 30. Holed out for eagle on 16 and the guy I was playing with said, "you know you're even par now, right?" Parred 17 and made a 15-footer for birdie on 18 to shoot a 1-under 71.

Broke 70 once, and it was probably 5-6 years ago. I'd have to look at the scorecard for the actual date, but it was two weeks to the day after I shot 70 for the first time, and on the same course. I had a feeling that day on the first tee I was going to shoot in the 60's and I did somehow.

Still waiting on my ace...

Started playing my first year in college. Needed something new to compete in. So that's been about 6 years now.

100- 19
90- 21
80- 24

75 is my low round.

My best accomplishment though is shooting 83 while battling a bad case of the snap fades a couple weeks ago

I only remember breaking 90 (87) and 70 (69). 100 and 90 happened within the first year I took up the game as a college fish. 80 was the 2nd year. 70 was about 5 years, about the time I was finishing grad school.

Been playing for 18 years and started at 5 years old. I don't remember the 100 and 90 mark, but I broke the 80 barrier at 13 while playing Kizer up in Austin. Broke the 70 barrier a few times the summer right after graduating high school.

I ALMOST followed through with this. I started the day 9 strokes back and shot an 80 to lose by two. Almost hit that new milestone, but 80 is a new all-time low. Cool that I did it in the club championship.

Played hard for about six years. Don't remember breaking 90 or 100. Shot in the 70s two or three times. Definitely know my best round.

Just now picking up the game aftet 15 year layoff. Haven't broke 100 yet but getting close.

That display case is really neat. Great idea.

Ive been playing since May of 2010 - a little over four years.

Can't recall the exact date, but I remember I first broke 100 at Clear Creek by shooting 99 on the dot and making par on 18.

I broke 90 in November/December of 2013 on vacation in Punta Cana by once again shooting an 89 to squeak in, and then proceeded to shoot 123 the next day out.

I have yet to break 80. Last week at Memorial I played 9 holes in the evening, and came to the tee at #9 with 36. I thought to myself, "If I birdie this, I'll break 40 for the first time." I proceeded to bogey and shot a 42.

Bagger - great idea with the low score cabinet. I think I'll do that as well. Also, glad to see you making progress. Sometimes I wish I would have discovered this game with one of my good friends so we could compete/make progress at the same time.

EDIT: DOUBLE bogey for the 42.
