2 players had to drop from our foursome Thursday morning. If anyone will be in town and wants to play the morning of the game, I have an early tee time and 2 spots...would rather play w some Ags.

BTHO the Gamecocks!!

Cobblestone at 850...they don't allow anyone on the course before 8, which I found odd. But they said it should play really quickly.

Was recommended this course by a superintendant of a course in Myrtle when I asked which courses near Columbia I should consider...he said this one without hesitation.

FYI, golf the morning of the game was AMAZING. Hands down, nicest course I've ever played. Granted, I've been limited to courses around Dallas and Houston and haven't traveled much (bought a golf travel bag for the first time on this trip), but this course was on another level. Fairways and greens were perfect, tree lined fairways reminiscent of a junior 'Augusta', weather was FANTASTIC. Could not have been better. Will post a few pics soon.

Best part of all...it was $39. I've played TPC Las Colinas, Dallas National, Tribute, Old American, Cowboys Club, etc. Pretty much all over the metroplex. My buddy and I are convinced that this was better than any other course we've played...regardless of price.

Completely agree on Cobblestone Park. It's like USC's version of traditions, but public. Have 3 different 9's and switch up each for an 18. We played saturday morning for $45 and got to play the other 9 for only 15 bucks. It was an unreal course, really great course.

Also got to play two other courses that were part of a CC up there and they were both in great shape too. Will definitely be turning this rivalry into a golf trip every other year from here on out.

Those ones above are from a course called Woodcreek. These are the ones of cobblestone park.

A buddy and I played Indian River near the Columbia airport. Not bad for $25 (+$10 for club rental).

I'll third Cobblestone Park as being legit. We paid $50ish Friday late morning and couldn't have been more please. Was in great shape, great layout and worth much more than that.

I was going to post my pictures, but I suck and took 4 crappy pics.

Side note, I birdied that peninsula par 3 in the background of your last picture. It was on a different 9 (the black 9) than the extreme downhill par 3 you took your picture on. We didn't play that 9 on Friday morning (Garnett to Black). That area around that lake was bad ass though, very picture-esque.

Yeah for the 18 we played Garnet & Black, but Gold was actually my favorite. They had different greens than the other 9's and they were in excellent condition.

From the looks of those pics you would expect to pay $75-100 for 18. Can't believe the cheap green fees you guy paid. That's awesome!
