In addition to these, the 2008 comeback in the rain against Mizzou was a good one. The Sunday game was good too.

I'm partial to the '98 game in Waco because it's the most memorable game I've played in at any level. By memorable I mean all of the details are fuzzy because it was so incredible.

Some of you may remember how Steve Smith rolled the dice by throwing their lefty on Friday night (Bergman?), and saved Jason Jennings and Kip Wells for Saturday and Sunday respectively. We weren't exactly dominant against right handers with good breaking stuff so we were given a jolt by that decision. On Friday night, we had a good lead as mentioned, and then a storm nearly took our tarp and several members of Leo's crew out in to Wellborn road. During the delay we had no doubt we were going to Waco up 1-0.

Saturday is mostly a blur but after Schesh gave us the lead with a clutch hit off of the batters eye the Ags in the stands went out of their minds. To this day, John and I affectionately refer to that game as the "cage match". I want to meet they guy who was halfway up the backstop. He's known in my head as Spider-Man. We thought that rickety shack was coming to the ground that night.

I've caught thousands of sliders from Casey but he had a few more revolutions on each one that day. The last pitch of that game was likely still spinning in my glove when I got to the dog pile. I was at the bottom of the pile and caught another glimpse of rabid Ags doing unsavory things to Baylor property. It was beautiful. Dog piling on their field is my most vivid memory of 1998.

The next day, I remember almost feeling sorry for them when they rolled Kip Wells out there for a meaningless game. Ok, not really. All I remember about that day was telling myself to hit the one in the middle

My favorite game at Olsen - irrespective of the priority of the game - was Friday night vs Mizzou in '08.

Aaron Crow pitching for Mizzou...we're getting basically nothing off of him early. I believe Mizzou had a 6-0 lead very early, and I do remember Ben Feltner robbing a grand slam in the 2nd.

We weren't getting much off of Crow, but we were taking a ton of pitches from him. Well over 100 in the 6th, he had to come out. Ags tagged the bullpen in each inning, and won with the walk-off balk in the 9th.

My description seems like it was a cool game, but not all that, but the flow of the game made it exciting as hell in the stadium. Crowd totally out of it early, sucked back in as Crow's effectiveness tailed off, then blew the
lid off in the 7th. Was in the middle of the 16 game league winning streak (that had several epic games in it...Baylor Sunday, Mizzou Friday, Mizzou Sunday, Nebraska Friday).

The entire 1989 season, period. Greatest college baseball team ever to walk on the field.

Good to hear from a former player.
Couldn't imagine what that series would of been like as a player.
I have said for a long time the 1998 and 1999 Baylor series are without question IMO 2 of the greatest 3 game regular season series as far as what's at stake, atmosphere, intensity and overall entertainment.
As Scott mentioned after Schesch hit in the 8th after the intential walk to Kuzmic.. The Ags at old ferrell field nearly brought the place down. I honestly thought the bleachers I was sitting in between the aggie dugout and homeplate were gonna collapse. And yes a few Ags were climbing up the backstop.. One guy got about halfway up. It was as wild of a scene as I have ever seen.
The 1989 Texas series is obviously there also but those 3 series stand far and above anything else.

It was a Saturday in 1989......not Sunday. We played a Friday night game and a dbl header on Saturday back then.

To be fair.. It's not completely incorrect.
The SWC format was a Friday night game and DH on Saturday.

Usually, it was a single game Friday night, followed by a 7/9 doubleheader on Saturday, but, ESPN wanted a game for their Sunday night weekly college baseball broadcast, so it was scheduled to be single games on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. It rained Saturday, so a day/night doubleheader (instead of the usual 7/9 doubleheader) was schedule for Sunday, April 16, 1989.

Edit: now that I think about it, I'm not sure if it rained Saturday or Friday. It was one or the other, but the result was the Sunday doubleheader.
