Bullpen borders on tremendous - Gabe Bock on premium.

Just finished the drive home from Olsen.

I'm sure we would have seen Meltin or Nau in the 9th if we got one more runner on. A two run homer does nothing.

I'd be fine with never seeing Jester pitch again for the Ags.

I'm actually not pissed off at this loss. Jester was hit hard, but the home plate ump changed his zone about five times. Hard hits tend to be a result of that. Aggies played well but couldn't get the hit they needed. That's baseball. The right moves were made.

Schlottmann may have saved any chance at a series win...if we would have had to dip into our bullpen much more, the next two games would have been a struggle. Awesome performance, very proud of Ty (wears my number!). Jester can still come back this series, but RC can lose faith in a guy pretty quick.

Hoping to get back to CS in time to catch a game at the end of the year! Need some college baseball back in my life

Good luck with your recovery. Miss seing your overhand hook at the college level.

Just switch Kennedy to baseball and Childress to basketball and whomever improves the team the most gets to stay.

That was a tough one to lose, after giving up a 3 spot in the first, and getting it back in the second off their ace. Jester wasn't on, but he was trying to hit a moving target. Schlottman's performance deserved a better ending than that--had we pulled it out, that game could have been a springboard for this team solidifying its chances to make the tournament.

Now, while you can conjure up unlikely scenarios to the contrary, realistically, the next two games are must win games. Mengden has got to give us something today or we are sunk.

I didn't get home until the second. I know Jester walked in a run and only got one out, but was it something he could have battled through?

I wonder if Childress said this isn't his night, but if he is pulled now he will be available Sunday. He probably only expects a few innings from him regardless as he makes the transition.

Think Gandy Stubblefield.

Chidress has always thrown our best pitcher 1st in tournaments even if we are playing the weakest team in the tourney. I wonder if playing Jester on Fridays might be a switch in policy .. sacrifice Fridays to win Saturdays and Sundays.

Ty Schlottmann throws 6.2 scoreless and gets zero run support. Kind of reminds me of a Saturday a couple of years back when another #36 threw 9 shutout (and hitless) innings and got the 1-0 win only because of an unearned run.

Jester looked terrible, wasn't anything to work through last night. First 3 batter hit him hard, got 1st out by good throw from Stein on wild pitch. Walked the next 1-2 batters and had another wild pitch in there somewhere.

To me it looks like Kentucky was hitting the right handed pitchers pretty hard and having more trouble hitting the left handed pitchers. If so, may not look too good for Mengden and Long.

wow, the Jester-on-Fridays-experiment...very short-lived. Was a disaster tonight
