Once again someone who doesn't actually follow the program jumps on the board because they saw us lose on tv.

This year the Aggies have lost by 5 runs or more a total of THREE times. Two of those loses happen to be very recent and one was on national tv. But they were against Top 5 opponents.

You can hardly say this team has been routed all year long. Try bringing some facts in here with your trash talking.

This team has been in all games this year save for a few. As a matter of fact they are a few plays away from having several less losses than they do now. It's been a very frustrating year for us as fans for sure, and I can't speak for the coaches or players but I'm positive it's been exponentially more frustrating for them. It doesn't help things when some supposed fans pile on and flat out make **** up like saying they are constantly being routed in games.

I'll go ahead and say it again: you shouldn't complain about Jo Evans' recruiting when you effectively tie one hand behind her back by asking her to recruit to a dump of a stadium with crappy facilities. The recruits she gets commit to her and the program, but you take tools out of the recruiting toolbox - tools that every SEC program has, as well tu and Baylor, with our facilities.

For those of you who discount Coach Evans accomplishments and the level of our program, ask yourselves this: why does ESPN continue to broadcast from A&M? Have you seen our pressbox? Have you seen the platforms where the cameras go? It's a joke; ESPN hates broadcasting from the Aggie Softball Complex. The reason they broadcast from here is because of the respect for our program and the high level at which Jo Evans has this program playing for the last 10 years. A&M is so relevant on the collegiate softball scene that ESPN chooses to broadcast our games despite the horrible conditions.

I get that some of you are mad and disappointed in the last few weeks. I too am concerned that the program might start to slip in relevance and performance. That's why it's so important for us as fans to back the program, continue to show up and be rowdy at games, and donate money to fund the new stadium. We have the coach in place, now we need the facilities.

AGENDA................ Well, don't we ALL want Texas A&M to have championships across ALL sports! I just think 18 years is enough time to see what someone can do. I think you put the bait in the water and see who bites! I think you could get the best of the best to come coach at a school with HUGE following as well as a talent pool that has the ability to win championships consistently!

So AGENDA!! YOU BET I DO!

I want this for EVERY sport at the school that I love and spent so much time not being a 2%'er. I bleed MAROON and just think the time as come! I know you may not like the details that I give, but everyone on this board wants whats best for the baseball & softball teams! Right now................ we are getting mediocrity!

The softball program is not "mediocre." If you want people to take your position seriously quit throwing out hyperbole.

I stand corrected. We have lost by 5 or more 4 times. Forgot the Sunday Florida game.

And for the record....the bad Tennessee loss wasn't on TV.

And as fans, most of the time we don't know the ins and outs of recruiting. Like the fact that Ricketts (who won the WCWS for OU last year) was dead set on coming to A&M and her family talked her into OU at the last minute because her sister went there.

Or the ASU pitcher that was committed to A&M and switched a week before signing day.

I realize these are lost recruiting battles. But that isn't always on the coaching staff. Life happens.

I'm not sure what your point is on those lost recruiting battles... We're not as good as we otherwise could be but it's OK because we lost some recruits to other schools so it doesn't count?

Just saying its kind of like "if the ball would've bounced this way", and "if the other team wouldn't have scored one more run than us in that close game", ...... If we hadn't have lost those X close games we'd have X more wins....

Kind of like "if my aunt had nuts......"

My point is the statement has been made that Evans can't recruit elite talent. First I would argue that is false. We have elite talent playing for us now. And second I would argue that she has lost some tight recruiting battle for elite talent that had nothing to do with her as a coach, our program or our facilities. Sometime it is outside factors that swing a recruit to a different program.

There are aome statements being made as absolutes. They aren't accurate. That is my only point.

I realized that was fairly ironic when I posted it but I'll stand by it.

With great reluctance, our softball coach needs to retire. I've always liked her. A&M just isn't top tier SEC softball. some apologists sound like apologists for football coaches seventies after Coach Wilson departed. SEC is big time. Side note- our baseball program is struggling also.
Just my two cents...

Well, softball isn't football.

1) The softball program generally litters its non-conference schedule with a bunch of games at elite tournaments with elite teams. We been traveling out to California and elsewhere playing very difficult schedules for years, and we've had some pretty successful seasons during that time.

2) The Big 12 was actually good softball conference. Yes, you had some "off weeks" that you don't see in the SEC (and everyone's record reflects that) but between OU, UT-Austin, Baylor, Missouri, and some good runs here and there from other schools, the conference was pretty good- and again, we made some pretty good runs during our Big 12 years.

Softball's having a "down year" that corresponds with their 2nd year in the SEC, but I'm not sure I'd read it as our being unable to compete in the SEC. Its too early to say that, especially when we're trying to adjust to the different schedule we play (3 game series, and again, fewer pansies on the schedule). Some sports saw an uptick correspond with their move, softball, this year at least, hasn't seen that.

They said on the news last night that the team was 0-7 in its last 7 SEC conference games. Team is in a free fall.

For the homies above A&M was beaten by auburn, 9-1 today to lose its 8 straight conference game and finish in 11th place with a 9-15 record.

Skull, so by finishing in 11th place does that mean they will miss the SEC tourney? If so, wow what a nose dive ever since the 4-1 victory over the Vols. seniors checked out?

Depending on how SEC action not including A&M next weekend goes, if they stay in 11th place they will not make the SEC tourney.

They will however make the NCAA tourney. Most likely a low 2 seed. Maybe a high 3 seed.

Recruiting has to do with a few factors.

First of all, there are thousands of young girls that play this game and they want to play for Texas A&M....... PERIOD!

The kids that are GREAT offensive players, they want to be in a program that can develop them into SUPERIOR offensive players.

If you are a top tear pitcher, then you want to make sure you go where your able to develop and change season to season to stay ahead of the scouting reports.

In TAMU case, let's look at it.
Jo Evans - Great diplomat and clearly plays the political game as good or better than just about anyone. Keeps the right people happy, stays quiet and to herself to keep her head down and keep it from being shot off. Great for a politician, but not so great to be a dynamic coach in the SEC.

Joy Jackson - stands literally at the right field fence....... not the coaches box....... gives INCREDIBLE "high 10's" to any Aggie that is lucky enough to get to first base! she holds the arm guards with extreme skill. Don't think she works with hitters. Possibly just the outfield coach. she does that part before games.

Mary Jo Firnbach - works really hard in the cages before games, but pitches that she throws are right down the pipe. So when the team actually sees a pitch with some movement on it....... THEY ARE DUMBFOUNDED!

Rhianna Kleesing - "volunteer" pitching coach. All I have ever seen her do is sit with a clipboard in her hands. she doesn't call time to work with pitchers during game, and you never see her in the bullpen.

Now, with that being spelled out....... Right now, you have a direct pipeline into the Impact Gold program, which gets you talent. But if you cannot continue to stimulate these athletes and tweak them when they get in a funk, or give them any advise on an adjustment....... YOU LOSE 8 STRAIGHT CONFERENCE GAMES!

You have seen ZERO adjustments to who plays either. I think I counted 21 on the roster. Why have we not seen anything dynamic? You're losing right? Make a change, give a kid on the bench a chance. Ohhhhh............ that's right. Those kids KNOW they will never see the field, so they stay in the dugout and "hump it" on cue. They would be SHOCKED to be called upon.

In my opinion, what you have on the field is talented, but is not getting it done. You cannot coach them, so why not make someone on the bench get a shot. I know....... sounds really simple right???

BETTER YET! GET A COACHING STAFF THAT CAN COMPETE!

So take the poor performances, mid division rankings, and constant not winning championships of a 50,000+ student university that ranks very high in many categories and is located only 180 miles from all major metro areas in the state. You really must think TAMU athletics is a big joke.

If Hyman is paying Jo to fck up, she is doing a damn good job and deserves a raise!
