In the sixth inning, JaVon Shelby hit a triple and scored on an error in the same play. But he's credited with an RBI. Usually, a batter isn't credited with an RBI if the runner scores on an error. Is this a special case because Shelby himself was the batter and the runner?

That's a good question. I'm not sure how that's scored an RBI.

Weird. Not sure that should've been considered even a triple. Moroney had 2 errors on that play imo. Dude doesn't get to third if Moroney makes a clean pick up. And definitely doesn't score if he actually gave a damn and threw it correctly instead of lobbing it like a 12 year old gymnast.

No clue on that one. Definitely not an RBI.

Only four batters that inning. Nobody was on.

Taylor did him no favors by how he played it either. It was botched by both. Taylor should have immediately gone for the ball after it bounced off the wall and Moroney was stuck back there. Instead he waited around for Moroney to get there
Then he ended up floating way too far out into LF as the cutoff so when the ball finally was thrown in, it was an awkward short throw. Neither got any communication that Shelby was turning around 3rd, either.

Misplayed originally, then lazily played by both. We exhibit such poor preparation out there at times.

Thanks, ya'll. Yeah, I don't think he should get an RBI on that, but that's what it says in the box score. Hm.
