To call out a players on this board in that manner is pathetic. I like McLendon as well, but to throw players under the bus shows me you have zero class! This team is working there butts off, oh and by the way Taylor was 2-4 today and played solid as usual at SS!!! Now go ahead and kick your dog around for awhile, I think you will feel better.

Great job today Ags! Go get a W at Rice on Tuesday night and maybe even Super 12 will want to get back on the wagon.

Good game today, Ags, even if the pressure was totally off today. Giving due credit to RC, he does seem to have a knack for winning on Sunday to avoid sweep after sweep. Hopefully, his team will begin to finally show some consistency and ability on the mound, at the plate and in the field. Sure is nice to see young guys like Banks and Burne hitting the ball hard. Hope they avoid the tendency to go down hill next year.

A&M improves to 24-17 and 8-10 in the league. Moves into 6th place in the West division. However RPI still stuck in the mid-60's with 15 regular season games to go.

Gotta have a win at Rice on Tuesday.

Attendance today was 3,300. About a thousand less than the Ags' season average. Really not a good idea to play a home game on Easter

Falling in an 0-2 hole to Kentucky (a relative no-name by SEC baseball standards) and having a pedestrian season thus far didn't help either. If the Ags were 31-10 overall and 13-5 in SEC play instead of 24-17/8-10 and we were playing LSU the crowd would have been much bigger.

Sorry to hit a sore spot with some fans here but the truth hurts. If you have watched the same games as I have and all the others around that know the game the thoughts are mutual. There needs to be some accountability here. Starts with the leaders and rolls down hill. I will keep the comments off this thread but this team is soft. Guys , putting up 20 runs against ACU and 14 against KY number 5 pitcher is not conclusive that we are headed in the right direction . We have to score runs against quality opponents or we are going to end the season really early. And yes mengden needs a much needed break. Yes he is a bulldog an wants to pitch but RC is in charge and has to look out what is best for this team and for mengdens future. !!!

Super 12 is not alone...agree with not calling out specific payers, etc...but SS is the one position that for some reason has not really been competed all year and it shows. What it's done is create an entitlement attitude at that spot unlike the others. For some reason the coaches look "to play" certain players and look "to not play" others. Makes me shake my head???

Was there yesterday. RC talked to them a long time after the game. Proud of these guys making a statement today.

What statement? Lost 2 of 3 to a mediocre team. At home.

Kentucky isn't mediocre, but we shouldn't be losing 2/3 at home to them, with one being a blowout. We still have games to play though, so we still have the opportunity to finish well. I vote for that.

Where did the idea that Kentucky is no good come from? They're Top 20 and lead the conference in hitting, both overall and through conference. I've seen this repeated by a number of posters.

I didn't say UK wasn't any good...I just said they're a no-name team by SEC standards. They could be league champs but their baseball team will never have the name recognition that LSU, Florida and Mississippi State have.

Kentucky is a ranked team, which is something we're not. I do think our team showed a desire to compete on Sunday after losing the series on Saturday. That's as positive a spin as I can put on it.

You also aren't the poster 2 above my post that said they were "mediocre". They're a consensus Top 25 team and the best offense in the SEC and were ranked #1 during part of last season, yet the trend has continued this morning of people assuming that since they didn't know they were any good that they must not be.

Taylor muffs some easy balls but he also makes his share of great plays in the field. As for hitting, he is hitting 0.276, not great but not bad either. And he leads the team in doubles and hits a lot of hard outs that might start falling for hits.

McLendon played short when Taylor was out but doesn't have the arm. Perhaps Birk will earn a shot at short, where he played in high school, but didn't many college players play short in high school?

I think the best SS on the team is probably Allemand but Taylor and the others can't play the other positions as well so the best infield is Taylor at short and Allemand opposite whoever they want in batting order at 2nd or 3rd.
