And any others of you who open this thread.

As many of you regulars no doubt remember, it's rare that an off-season goes by that I don't lament the disappearance of the high leg kick from the modern game. I have always believed that Coach Childress could improve our staff immensely by teaching this time-proven method. To date, he has ignored me, and it just might cost him his job.

If RC is replaced after this season, our new coach would do well to hire a pitching coach from the "high leg kick" school. Just a word to the wise, potential new guy...

Ross, I addressed this to you because you are at a potentially pivotal point in your career. With an extended amount of down time ahead of you (breaking character long enough to express my best recovery wishes), you can use this time to study the high leg kick. You don't want to wind up in AAA Albuquerque. I've been there. It's so arid that grass won't grow. Master the high leg kick, skip AAA, and go straight to LA! A few images to begin your studies:

Haha, this is great Dabo Man! Thanks for the shoutout

All I'm gonna say is, there's a reason no one teaches this kind of leg kick anymore. The only advantage it gives you is deception; it creates no power and puts your body in an awkward position and easy way to make your arm drag and get hurt. Now you will hear the term "finish your leg kick" in baseball, which is important. That allows you to remain tall, gather all your energy, and deliver one big, maxed out downhill effort leading with your hips and legs.

Sorry if that rains on your parade. Would be pretty cool to see some pitchers come out with some old Koufax type mechanics, but I don't see it happening. Even he told me in Spring Training he didn't learn the right way to pitch until he was done playing. It's all about maximizing your energy in one direction in a way that you can repeat while causing angle and movement on your pitches.

Never know who may whip it out again though! Hope all is well Ags. Get the team going and finish the year strong!

At least put on the stirrups, Ross. Look at how bad ass Marichal looks!

No swag?? No way!

The high socks look is really sharp. When a whole team does it, like the Aggies, it makes me so happy. I love it.

I mean... look at these guys.

Sharp sharp sharp.

I used a high leg kick when I threw overhand.. That should tell you all you need to know about it's flaws. Haha

Juan Marichal was a stud when I was in Little League. We all tried to copy him, which was hard to do since he had a couple other delivery styles.
