Marty tears a fuel line and the delorean runs out of gas. Doc says no gas until the next century. The rest of the movie is about how they get the delorean up to 88.

But isn't there gas in the original delorean that doc buried in the mine they could use? Are we to forget that there are 2 deloreans in 1885 when Marty goes back? Of course, they couldn't use it for parts because then it wouldn't work in 1955. But the gas is another story.

Doc must have used up all the gas in the first one chasing 1800s tail.

I've decided that a smart scientist such as Doc Brown drained all the fluids from the delorean, knowing that storing the vehicle for 70 years would cause the the engine to seize.

We were spared the boring scene where 1955 doc and Marty refuel the delorean before sending Marty to 1885.

Rest easy, folks. Plot holes filled.

This + would corrode parts/materials in the DeLorean, leak into the mine and could explode when Doc broke into the mine in 1955.

Besides, if they took parts from that one, their would not be a DeLorean in 1955 for Marty to travel back to 1855 in. The space-time continuem would be all screwed up.

After they get back to 1985, why didn't they make another trip back and bring a can of gas to their selves?

Even Bill and Ted were smart enough to figure out that trick.

The delorean got destroyed seconds after returning.

They would have left a note on the gas can to warn them about the future train tracks, duh.

Take the red pill and see how deep the rabbit hole goes.

or

Take the blue pill. The story ends, and you wake up in your bed and believe whatever you want to believe.

There is one actual plot hole. In bttf 2, when they travel to 2015, Marty should not be there in the future since he left in the deloreon and shouldn't have been there to age 30 years.

If time "knew" that Marty would eventually return safely to 1985 and then age 30 years, then old Jennifer should've not been shocked to see her young self since she should have that memory.
Incorrect, sir!

Here's another question...if Doc was able to build an entire steam operated TIME MACHINE in 1885, it seems like he would be able to synthesize gasoline from crude oil within six days.

The original Back to the Future has the most depressing ending of any movie. Before going into the past Marty's parents and siblings are obvious losers. Mom is overweight and an alcoholic, Dad is a wimp, Brother works at a fast food place. Obviously this is a bleak family with little happy memories.
Marty fixes the past and returns to the present where his Dad is a successful writer, Mom is fit and healthy, brother is a business man. This is a happy family filled with happy memories.
Except that Marty has all the unhappy family memories. It would take a few months before his family commits him to a mental institution for not remembering the family trips to Disneyworld, etc. and for constantly being surprised that his family are not losers.

yes but those happy memories would only exist until George McFly gets sued for the use of darth vader and planet vulcan in his book

Maybe leaving us wanting more is a good thing? Rocky, Rambo, etc maybe gave us too much.

Every time BTTF comes on TV its hard for me not to watch, one of my all-time favorites.

Unless you subscribe to the theory that every time someone travels into time, it creates a schism from the timeline that a person traveled from.

Or in other words, Doc's knowledge of the future of good 1985 causes him to travel back with Marty and Jennifer to an alternate 2015 different than the one he visited with Einstein.

But that doesn't jive with doc's description that the future will change around Einy and Jennifer when they are left it Shitty 85 where George is dead and Marty's mom is a *****.

Star Wars to add to the pile.

Rock V was a mistake. "Rocky Balboa" rectified that mistake, though.

And "Rambo" was a blood orgy. Which is cool if you are into that kind of thing. The only thing that bummed me out was John Rambo's hulked out roided self necessitated by Sly's abuse of performance enhancers.

So what time-travel theory states that changes in the timeline are reflected by people slowing disappearing from photographs?

Wait. We're still good.

See, when Marty goes back to 1955 the first time, he's travelling back as "Original 1985 Marty". He's also got a picture of Original 1985 Brother, Sister, and Marty.

So when he travels to 1955 in Part 1, he's in the past of Original 1985 Marty. So when he causes his parents not to meet, he's effectively eliminating 1985 Marty, and the picture would have never displayed original 1985 brother, sister, and marty.

However, Marty changes the timeline by putting George in a position to punch out Biff. Consequently, he has created a new timeline, "Alternate Good 1985" wherein Biff is working on the McFly's car. So when he goes to the future at the end of Part 1, he is now in "Alternate Good 1985" and can't return to Original 1985. That is unless he returned to 1955 at the moment Marty arrives and stop Marty from getting hit by his mom's car, some how.

I think the more important question is... where is the adult movie of Doc and Clara gettin it on, old west style?
