Anyone else hoping Yoda makes an appearance? I don't care if it's just a small cameo of Force Ghost Yoda speaking with Luke, that would be enough for me.

After the disappointing prequels I'm not as excited about this as I should be. I hope Lucas has very limited involvement so we can avoid stupid characters like jar jar and asinine things like "I really think people want to see Yoda fight". Not once in the two decades of watching the original series did I wonder what Yoda was like when he was younger, and if he fought. My BP is rising just thinking about those abortions.

Really? I could not be more excited. And yes, Lucas' involvement is extremely limited. He's basically just there to approve the story, as far as I understand.

I mean seeing what JJ did with Star Trek, imagine what he could do with Star Wars, and with the help of the writer of The Empire Strikes Back.

I just bought the originals on bluray and had forgotten all the crap he put in besides greedo shooting first. Just BC you can do something with CGI doesn't mean you should. I never watched all of the star trek movie or any of the sequel, so my excitement will remain extremely subdued

I feel bad for those that saw the prequels before the originals.

There is no surprise or plot twists.

Lucas really screwed up with the prequels.

But i am looking forward to the new ones.

I wonder if Anakin's apprentice will show up in the movies. Was her story ever resolved in the clone wars show? I feel like it was cancelled before finding out what happened to her.

I think he meant that if you had seen the original trilogy there were no surprises in the prequels, and conversely, the prequels spoiled the biggest twists in the originals. There is no right order to watch the movies* that preserves every plot twist.

*the right order is IV, V, VI, I, II, III, and i couldn't wholeheartedly oppose someone who said that the right order is IV, V, VI, III, fin.

I don't see how they completely leave out Yoda (ghost or not).

more episode of the Clone Wars cartoon are supposed to come out sometime this year. hopefully that will wrap up Ahsoka's story.

I've never seen anyone recommend starting with 6.

this summer I did a marathon watch of all six in this order, IV, V, I, II, III, VI there is no other order to watch them in.

I remember being about 150 pages into the Crystal Star and suddenly stopping and thinking, "Wait, what the hell is going on here?"

For every great EU novel, there were 5 awful ones.

"Hey, people liked that Kar Vastor guy in the Mace Windu novel, let's somehow get him to fight Luke Skywalker!" Yeah!
