Every year for the past 50 years, the town of Gavle, Sweden, has built a 45-foot-tall straw goat for Christmas. And most of the time, vandals burn it down.

McNeese State has a homecoming bonfire tradition. Here's a picture of the band and bonfire, circa 1955.

but no one, in my opinion, has the passion and dedication as Aggies do for Aggie Bonfire.

Anyone can build a pile of wood and set it on fire.

It's the hard work, safety, respect, dedication, and love Aggies pour into the structure itself that makes all the difference.

San Angelo State University had a big bonfire. Not sure if they do now but visited a friend who went there and it was pretty big but the students there are lame and have no school spirit. They all wear clothes with other big schools names and logos. Kinda a place for kids who couldn't get into a smart school.
