"Help us to always remember our most recently departed friends, our classmates, our Aggie buddies, may this remembrance last forever."

I'm kinda disappointed that we can't get out the hounds and chase down some kindling for the bonfire like they did in the good 'ol days. :'(

I remember this day as if it were yesterday. Media helicopters over campus....I was in line pulling tickets for the Texas game and it was chaos near the bonfire site. It was definitely a national news story that morning....beyond my parents calling to make sure I was ok, my high school friends in FL called my mother to check on me as well. My linear algebra professor dismissed class (we actually had an exam that day), I walked out of class and out to the bonfire site to see what was going on. I recall some players from our football team out there helping to remove logs. What a crazy sight. Never before had I been so proud of the support from the students and community. We will always remember the 12 souls that died.

Right now, 15 years ago, I was on the top floor of the library annex studying. There was a clear view from there to the bonfire site and I would go stare at it during (frequent) study breaks.
