I had really high hopes for this guy initially. Gets mocked on SNL and goes on the show, appeared to have a lot of charisma, Navy SEAL hero injured in battle. There was so much to initially like about him. But he's been very disappointing the last few years.

Agreed. I'm disappointed in a lot of our elected representatives; none more so than Dan Crenshaw.

The moment he came into the political light with the eyepatch, you should have known. However, I bet many of y'all voted for him
7:15a, 4/15/24
Crenshaw figured out the game faster than most. They arnt going to accomplish anything good, so might as well cash in.
7:20a, 4/15/24
I live in his district. I too had high hopes. I used to regularly listen to his podcast; I enjoyed listening to the guests he had in to just chat.
Then something military came up in a discussion, I think it was one of his seal buddies, and they were responding to someone else's comment or tweet. Crenshaw's response was, "Who TF is this guy that never served to tell me..." Blah, blah. Screw you Mr. Thank me for my service! That's NOT how it works.

Doesn't he have a very conservative rating/voting record?
Is he an abortion sympathizer like Trump and Kari Lake? No way he's as moderate as Trump right?
Genuinely curious.
I do get some of the gripes, I just think they are WAY overblown. He's not a WEF/globalist "plant" lol. That being said, I hope to watch the OP video when I have a bit more time later. Maybe it will open my eyes...

Not defending Crenshaw, but saw an interview on PBD where Eddie said he "barely graduated high school". So I discount the veracity of his claims to some degree.

Eddie Gallagher is legitimately a war criminal who killed people for sport.

The dude had multiple team members testify against him.

Frankly, I don't care how they are killed or what is done to the savages in these various terrorist groups. Skin them alive for all I care. Those ****ers happily torture, behead, and do untold things to anyone they capture. They don't fear being captured because they know the politicians in DC and in charge of the military don't have the stomach to do what is necessary to completely win a war.
If Gallagher stabbed a prisoner and then posed with his body, oh well. Other guy should have stayed at home.
The UCMJ and ROE are designed to handicap our warfighters. It was written by those that value feelings over victory. War isn't pretty. Do what is necessary to get the job done. So incredibly stupid to make our guy abide by ROE when the other team does whatever the hell they want.

Rep. Dan Crenshaw, R-Humble, sold less than $15,000 worth of energy infrastructure firm Kinder Morgan while sitting on an environment and climate change subcommittee. He also traded in Amazon, Boeing and Microsoft, companies affected by defense contracting decisions, while he was sitting on the Armed Services Committee.

I'm not sure which ranking system is preferred by Patriots, but Liberty Score (Conservative Review) gives him 74%, which they handily translate as a "C".El Gallo Blanco said:

Gallagher didn't commit the crime they were getting him for, his medic admitted to not helping a terrorist that ended up dying. They were saying Gallagher killed him which wasn't the case. He did admit to taking pictures with dead terrorist which was the worst they had on him.
Gallagher's lawyers and those around him had their phones and computers hacked by the DOD and got caught.
Him and his wife have been on several podcast discussing what happened, he was hung up to dry by a senior officer and then by politicians like Crenshaw. I don't think they expected Gallagher's family and friends to not back down.

Not surprisingly, the guys on the team that testified against him were all younger newer Seals, all of whom had longstanding issues with him over his more rough and abrasive style versus what they wanted out of a senior enlisted.
Wouldn't surprise me one bit either if those team members that testfied against him were offered something by some of the flag officers that had issues with Gallagher to testify against him (promotions, choice of duty, etc.).
This. He was not liked by flag officers in the SOCOM group because he thinks the newer crop of recruits isn't held to the same standards the older guys like he was, and he wants/wanted to go back to the older more rigid ways during BUDs and SQT.fixer said:This was my understanding as well.P.U.T.U said:

To date he is in the top 15 or so of congress in terms of return on investment, I think he's around 40% growth year to year. Amazing that he trudges through life as a congressman when he could be a trader or broker and absolutley cash in on such a return.
Aside from that, he gets all kinds of pissy when anybody questions anything about him or a decision he makes. He is vehementaly against any regulation on congress trading stocks because $174k a year isn't enough to live on according to him. Don't dare be a 12 year old girl asking him questions at a public event either, that is absolutely against the rules for him.
He went from a net worth of almost nothing in 2017 to over $2million in 2018 and is hovering close to $3mm today (estimates). Some of that came from his book royalties, but most of it came from his "savvy" investments.billb said:So no proof then.Booma94 said:From the Dallas Morning News in Dec 2023:El Gallo Blanco said:He got a pretty good return in recent years...like some of my good friends have.
