ok, I misread it.
the percent of children that were boomers born in 60 were a lot worse off than the earlier boomers relative to their parents.
so its been declining.

Media and more finely tuned and effective marketing has gradually caused the public to believe the daily standards of living if their peers is higher and better than it is, and this encourages a mass debt fueled "chasing of the Jones"phenomenon. This keeps pushing inflation and results in political support patterns and consumption patterns that are short term in scope. People live by conspicuously consuming in the short term instead of wealth building, at least many of them do, and that drives inflation or debt spending and low interest policies that cause the vicious cycle we are in.

You might have to move a little piece down the road if you don't want to live with your parents.
As an example, my wife and I had a combined income of about $65k when we bought our first house in Round Rock for $115k in 1995. That house sold for $355k last year. Pretty unlikely that a young couple is going to be able to afford the exact same house.
But, they can probably afford something in Jarrell, Hutto, Elgin, Bastrop, etc.
In SoCal, it's the Inland Empire, or the Central Valley where all the new growth is.
Great meme but what a lot of people (especially those in my old neighborhood in California) haven't figured out is that just because you were born somewhere doesn't mean that you're entitled to keep living there.rocky the dog said:

There's a widening gap between 30 year olds based on career path, education, etc. The wealthy millennials have far more money than their parents did at their age. Really, it's about making smart choices, deferring your own self-gratification, and not playing stupid games. Bonus points if you don't live in a liberal cesspool that stops housing from being built.

Parents also didn't have the lifestyle of the 30 year olds now. Hell college is a resort now. Just once I would love to have someone do some background on sacrifices to get where they are on these sob stories.
I need college debt forgiven (What did you do during your spring breaks during college? Did you work over the summers? Did you work over Christmas break, knowing you were going to add more debt next semester? How was your summer abroad? did you start looking for full time employment before you graduated university?)
Don't think my dad was to excited about starting a family and career during the Carter recession. Yet he survived.

This topic gets beaten to death. It's clear that there will never be any sort of agreement on this issue or steps to fix it.
Young people are angry, older people laugh and say iPhones and food delivery (saw one of those dumb lists on this very thread).
Meanwhile, our country's being invaded but don't worry, the illegals have and will have plenty more kids to replace you me, and any remembrance of the same boomers laughing in this thread other than, oerhaps, in history books (assuming those don't get rewritten).
The bottom line is, things are only going to get worse and we are all screwed. If you're older, be fortunate you won't have to be around longer than you have to be.

Is this boomer related? Feel like it's more a consequence of the rise of social media and prominence of emotionally weak bleeders with a voice. This is a social issue impacting youth first and foremost, and it is not something inherent in our society that boomers started.
What is the answer? War is a great solution. Resets what is actually important to these emotional liberals, causes population spikes post war that leads to healthy societal demographics, and really emphasizes a country first mentality.

I don't blame any generation for the problems we face because of our debt. I blame mentalities for that. Jealousy, envy, hatred, and laziness--all are being taught and fomented in generations of people. That leads to politicians who want to stay in office offering everything under the sun to get votes. Then, you look up one day and the currency is worthless, outside capital won't come invest with you, and you see calamities like a Civil War or a communist takeover.
These younger generations today vote for Dems because that's what society teaches them--teachers and professors, actors, entertainers, and other influencers. And now that most kids are raised in homes where most parents are not married to each other anymore, both work, or one of them is gone and you depend on a welfare state that helps pay your bills, these kids that become voters have no idea how anything works financially. Why should they? All they hear is that wealth that is created from working is prejudice, privilege, biased, etc.. Unless you're an athlete, entertainer, actor, or some other influencer.
The piper will get paid. When? My guess is around 2100. Why? Well, it took 60-80 years for economies in Argentina, Greece, and the USSR to collapse when socialism/communism took root. Here in the US, and I don't care when you want to look at the start, whether you want to look at George W. Bush taking over a surplus and spending it into a deficit or Obama spending more in 4 years than every single administration COMBINED before him, the fact is that it will be somewhere around 90-100 years from when this all started. Because our economy is the size that it is, I give it an extra decade or two to reach bankruptcy, as compared to the USSR, as well as being in a global economy. But make no mistake about it, its unavoidable. It would take a Great Depression 2.0, lasting at least a decade, to fix government debt, to see the old people on SS and Medicare die off and the next generations get nothing, and to see a military that is basically a police force for the border of the country and nothing else. Thats is staying as Democratic Republic. As a socialist setup goes bankrupted, the reality becomes two-fold. Do as Russia did and deal with a horrible financial situation for at least 5-10 years (with inflation and higher interest rates, bread lines, soup kitchens for the poor) but eventually attract international money and begin to compete globally. Or you get fully consumed by a communist regime where everything gets taken from you and you work for the government who uses you to produce goods and services as cheap as possible to compete with China, while imprisoning and killing millions of your own.
