Interesting police work.

A bus hit a pedestrian and killed the pedestrian at the entrance to the club.

Scheffler, arriving at the club to prepare for his second round, thinks it is normal security and drives through the scene. A Cop jumps on the car and scheffler stops.

He get out and is immediately through against the car, cuffed and is taken to jail.

Louisville Cops arresting the #1 (white) golfer in the world over something stupid does not have political implications?

Maybe be should have told them he was an illegal seeking asylum in Valhalla.

He should have just invoked his White privilege.

Cop tells reporter "he's goin to jail and ain't nothing you can do about it"

Seriously? Do you have to have room temperature level IQ to be a cop?

per jeff darlington, who eyewitnessed it:

scheffler tried to pull around what he apparrantly thought was security, but it was police officers. they signaled him to stop, scheffler did not stop. an officer attached himself to the vehicle, scheffler drove another 10 yards.

i completely understand that scheffer thought he was just going through security, but anyone would get cuffed if they did this

the charges will and should be reduced dramatically.

Come on dude.

Everything is political.

All you have to do is say, "Imagine it was a black guy" if he's white, and "Imagine it was a white guy" if he's black.

How is it assault if the officer jumped on his car?
IndividualFreedom

He should not have complied, cussed the cops and then start creeping his hand into his waist line. Isn't that how it is supposed to go?

On a serious note, does the #1 golfer in the world drive himself places?

"Attached himself to the vehcile" is an interesting way to explain something.

Guess scheffler is very lucky the cops didn't open up on him

have you not noted the average IQ of cops? this is the least surprising part of the story.

I'll go 48 hour rule, but if the Louisville PD has any sense they will get the body cam video out as soon as possible. Assuming Barney Fife and Co. turned them on.

Cops add BS charges to people thousands of times a day. They are trained to do it. Scheffler will get them dropped or reduced and so would a lot of us but a lot of people don't.

So a cop jumps on his car and they are going to try and they are charging him with a felony that in the state has a 5-10 year penalty? 48 hour rule but from what has been released so far the popo overreacted. He shouldn't have bypassed the police but no need to jump on his car and charge him with everything possible

If he proves to be innocent someone is getting sued for the potential money he lost

There are other pros saying that they were specifically told to drive around it.

He has to shoot either 10 below or 10 above today, right?

Those guys spend 3+ hours prepping for a round; no way this doesn't impact him.

Question for the resident LEO's here at F16:

Is jumping on a car in this situation like a normal procedure and directive that they were trained to do?

I'm just having a hard time believing that cops are directed to jump on a car for something as minor as someone trying to go around the incident.
