To elaborate on the concept of trading up in the 2nd. I think the extra 3rd gives us real firepower here. We don't have to trade away one of our 3rds outright, but we can do pick swaps.

For example, according to the trade value chart, we could move up from 56 to 42 with Houston. The cost would be giving them our #73 3rd rounder in exchange for their late 4th rounder #123. It's a bit of an overpay but that's what you get when you want to move up.

It's not a terrible scenario at all... via trades we were able to capture guys that we coveted, all the while we still recouped that 4th rounder that we wanted.

The 2nd round is always when Jerruh likes to get weird and pick someone random.
The last several 2nd rounders have been Schoonmaker (definitely out of left field), Sam Williams, Kelvin Joseph, Diggs, Trysten Hill, Awuzie, Jaylon Smith, Randy Gregory, and D Law.

So some guys who didn't work out but also some really nice picks in there. They always make it interesting that's for sure. Seems like we looks to swing for high upside in the 2nd, which is fine by me.

Also why this pick screams Brooks for this team. Jerry would say he's an early 2nd or late 1st if he wasn't injured.

Just don't take a flier on a guy coming off major injury

Shot across the bow at Brooks.

And I agree, I don't want Brooks with our second, and probably not even our early 3rd.

Most of y'all will hopefully forget he wore burnt orange if we draft him. He is an absolute stud. Power and Speed.

For the record, my ideal next two picks would be Cooper and Brooks.

He is def a stud if he's ready. I just don't want to draft a guy that you have to give a redshirt. Then you're only getting 3 years and his contract is up.

Here comes another WR.

I know he was a Redskin but you gotta love Darrell Green. Glad they're retiring #28.

Titans with the massive reach for Sweat. Holy cow!

Sweat off the board.

Apparently some teams took Sweat off their board completely.

I'm pretty surprised by the Sweat pick. He's a two down DT at the moment.

4-bills Sweat gone....

Yeah I sorta feel like I'd prefer one of the top LBs now and get the best RB with our 1st 3rd rounder.

I know right! I wouldn't be surprised if they take one of the Centers to replace Kelce.

Okay thank God. I can handle that Cooper.

Ugh. Cooper DeJean to the Eagles. They just got the 2 best corners in the draft

We can argue things dropping in their lap but they go get players
TyHolden
6:58p, 4/26/24
Texans gonna take Cooper?

It doesn't always work for them though. They've done this song and dance the last few years and they've ended up with a bunch of average NFL players outside of Carter from last year.

Run on corners now

So far so good. The LBs, Centers, and RBs all still on the board.

Knock on Wood, none of the picks have hurt my feelings yet

I think they already have a young guard pegged for center.

Do we really trust the surgeon that cut on Jaylon Smith, Michael Gallup, and Tony Pollard to bounce back in one off season?

If AD Mitchell makes it down to us, I would take him at this point. Try to get another impact player.
