Wanted to share this with The OB hope y'all enjoy.

Ok, so I tried a new little treat last night but before I get to it let me tell you the story behind it.

My uncle showed up and Thanksgiving this year with this little treat in hand. It was made by a little old German lady that likes to cook for him and my cousin ( we lost my aunt last year) and neither my uncle nor cousin likes to cook. These little bad boys are a variation of stuffed jalapenos and are delicious. I pretty much figured out the recipe ( not that hard ) however the cook times eluded me, so I managed to get this ladies phone number to ask her and the response I got was “ I am glad you enjoyed them; however, if I told you how I made them then you didn’t learn it the right way. Good Luck and enjoy them when you figure it out.”….gotta love lil ole ladies.

So after some trial and error….mostly error here goes.

1. take Jalapenos, cut off the top and core out the seeds and veins
2. Stuff with your choice of stuffing. I used cream cheese
3. Take a pre-made sausage patty and flatten it out
4. place Jalapeno on flat patty and roll up. Make sure sausage isn’t to thin as it will blow out as you will see in the pics.
5. roll this in seasoned bread crumbs
6. I cooked mine in the oven @ 350 for 35 minutes ( I didn’t want to waste wood on the first go around)
7. Eat and Enjoy

The Ingredients

Getting ready to roll

Going in the oven

Out of the Oven

One cut open

These little critters are truly delicious and a welcome new spin to the stueffed jalapenos we normally enjoy. Everyone in my house loved them and my wife is begging for me to make more for the New Years Eve Party tonight.

Good Luck….Enjoy and Happy New Year

I am going to have to try these. I might even try them with crab stuffing as well, because they look good (even if my arteries are clogging up as I think about it).

A hint about rolling them....make sure the meat is cold. It will roll better and not stick as bad

tip that we learned the hard way...

Use the non-powdered surgical gloves when handling the japs. Trust me on this one.
