Its the pool table and shuffle board at his house. He referenced it a few pages back.

We were coming back in yesterday afternoon and got to a spot where there were a group of Kudu bulls ~100 yds out grazing on our right and not too interested in us. We had gone past a group of elephants on our left and they had turned and moved into the forest. We stopped to glass the Kudu and see what else was around.

All of a sudden we heard thundering steps and trumpeting. I turned and a cow had her head down, ears back, trumpeting loudly and repeatedly and was barreling down on us. I let out a yell to Alastair . I'm not saying it was a manly Marine Corp oohraah....I'm not saying it was a little girl scream either... somewhere in-between ...you decide. But we got Alastairs attention and he looked and mashed the gas. Everyone held on for dear life and the elephant kept coming...we heard her rumbling thru the brush and trumpeting for about 200 more yds. Shed gotten within about 20 yds of the truck and was intent on mayhem. After 4 mock charged on this hunt, now I've seen the real one.

The leopard did not come back in on the bait . A group of 5 lions did. 4 females and an ancient male (no hair left in mane). They were there for hours so we assume that kept him away.

On bait 5, there was a bigger leopard on the lion bait. We are headed back up with a fresh bushbuck kill to put a leopard bait up there. We should have 2 leopard options depending on what we see on camera tomorrow.

Are you able to bring the elephant back to the US for taxidermists? I thought they were among the many more recent (5-10 years) import bans animals along with lions, polar bears, walrus, seals, cheetahs, etc.
Awesome if so!! Good luck!

He's in Africa. Internet is spotty. We'll just have to look at his old pics until he can post again.

Another bait hippo.

He was just n the middle of the river...about 50 yds out. He knew we were there . So he kept popping up and down.

He was quartered away. Shot him behind the right ear and it came out his left eye. You can tell if you squinch photo. Those bottom teeth are about 10inches

Refreshing some baits and putting out new ones . Going after leopard again tonight

If I shot that Hippo, it's mount would be the centerpiece of my house…and you're using it for bait.

Well done sir, I'll go back to the kiddie table now.

can I go next time just to be your bait hunter?

I'm a highly experienced baiter..

on the flipside. hippo skulls scare the @&^!% out of me more than any dinosaur skull. I can't imagine what we would interpret an animal to look like if the only thing we had was a hippo skull to base it off of.

Look at the scars on that big boy's flank. That's a lot of territorial fighting.
