Just my guess here, but I bet they use some type of lighting solution. That Z8i isn't going to be removed and replaced multiple times during the trip, and doesn't need hardly any light to be effective.

I've been to this ranch. His trophy room was impressive. I really was jealous of his massive Mule deer.
