I've seen one on a lease just outside of Pearsall. Was really cool to see one in the wild.

Not surprised. We thought one tore up a live trap in Llano county with no proof. Few years later we saw one at the same spot. Occasionally see one but pretty rare

As a kid, we had several on our place in Carson County.

As a kid I also learned a very important lesson, don't **** with badgers. They are evil creatures.

Plenty of them in Medina county. Not at all uncommon to see many in a year on our place.

Worked on a bunch of ranches between Mevlin, Brady, San Angleo, Mason, Hext, and Junction.

Saw plenty of small badgers, never a huge one.

Saw a roadkill one this one time, before a helicopter flight, so I set it up by this oak tree and a roadside fence to collect it's skull and pelt at the end of the day... sucker was gone when I drove back by. Sucks too, head was completely intact.

Moore and Kinney County for sure. Let on out of a #2 coil spring one cold winter morning near Dumas. Skinned another………never again.
Being in TexAgs jail changes a man……..no, not really

I skinned one when I was a kid about 16yrs old, and will never skin another. I didn't know at that time that had scent glands like a skunk.

I was fortunate to get one on a mule deer hunt outside Alpine. Did a full body mount and kids have named it badgerie. They love dressing it up for the holidays too.
Cool animals and had no idea they were in Texas till that hunt.

I've lived in Texas all 43 of my years and never knew we had Badgers until TexAgs told me a couple years ago.
Also, I would have assumed they were more woodland creatures, so I am surprised to see that it appears to be the opposite.
Shoefly!

Chased after one with a utv, my cousins hired dozer work and pushed the animal out of the brush. Amazingly quick! Kleberg county

Shot one from a high rig in maverick county when I was young. Saw one in southern NM a few years ago. Only two I've ever seen.

Chased one north of Cisco. It ran back to its den and it took a little while to clear enough dirt to get back in.

I have seen several in South Texas around San Diego/Benavides..... and every one I have seen was working with a coyote like a team. Incredible to see those animals running together and working together.

Years ago found a road kill in DeWitt County. Perfect condition so I put it in the freezer. Forgot about it and tossed it a couple years later, dangit.
Pretty sure most of you don’t know me.

Saw one dead on the side of the road by my dad's place in Coleman County (near Panther Creek) and caught another one on a game camera.

Also had a big porcupine for years that was a regular on the same game camera at 2-3a that never once saw in person.
