Looks like yellow caution tape. Not saying it couldn't have come from a crime scene, but I'd say it's more likely it came from a construction site. That stuff doesn't do well in the wind.

Still there as of yesterday.

I was going to get out and take a pic with it giving y'all the gig 'em, but the parking lot had an unusual number of people who were just camped out in their cars, including one that was about 20 feet from this one. I didn't want anyone to think I was trying to mess with someone's car.

This one is in the Kroger plaza parking lot in College Station. It has the orange sticker on the window left by law enforcement.

It's evidently been there for awhile according to the bird activity.

I used to work with someone that had a car stolen for a joy ride. The thieves just left it in a very public parking lot when they were done. She recovered it several months after when the cops contacted her about why it might be parked where it was. It was just a few miles from where she lived but she had no idea.

Happens in Corpus quite often. They take a car for the evening then just park it on the side of SPID and no-one bats an eye. It's such a strange city....

My friend had her POS 1990s mustang stolen from the school parking lot where she taught, used to commit a crime, and returned to the same spot. She had a hard time starting it but was able to drive it home without realizing what a busy day it had had without her.
