Took the dog out this morning. Something was in the driveway behind my truck. I walked around the corner to discover three baby goats laying in my driveway. We don't have goats. I don't know if goats nearby.

If yard is fenced you just got free lawn mowers.

It's like my Grandfather always used to say:

Could be some kids show goats that got out.
Shouldn't take long to find the owners here or or on nextdoor.

We live at the end of a quarter mile long driveway on 24 acres. Seems to be like somebody had to drop these guys out here.

Those are definitely not show goats.
My bet is someone thought you lived far enough out in the country and had enough land and a kind enough heart that you would take care of them.
Or you have a friend with a true country style of humor. Those goats will eat everything - and what they don't eat - they will climb on and try to destroy.

Honestly wouldn't mind having some. But, not set up out here on this place with infrastructure for livestock yet.
Inherited seven goats a few years ago with a place we bought in Washington County. Pretty familiar with their ways. Could use some brush munching around here though.

You could always get a python and take care of that issue.

The original owner of the goats has been found, or did you give in and have bought some old children's play equipment for the kids?

Just kidding, don't do that.
Glad to hear they've been reunited with their owners.
Quick, someone find OPs address and print pictures from this thread to leave on his doorstep in a few weeks.CashinOut said:

Yeah, generally speaking sneaking onto my property is probably not a great idea from a health perspective.

The owner is a vet that lives about a mile down the road. She had just purchased the goats yesterday and was housing them in some pens at another property that is very close to my driveway. They got out. They made themselves at home.

Yep. My BIL lives on the family farm in Iowa and his wife brought home a couple of baby goats a year or so ago. They've done well keeping the grass in the pen out behind their house mowed and will occasionally get out and keep the yard mowed. Cute little things as well, but when they decided to get out and jump onto the hood of her 1 week old Grand Highlander for a dance party, it was over for them. My BIL said he gave them away. I'll take his word for it.1990Hullaballoo said:

Honest to God I thought I was hallucinating when I first walked out. Definitely a different way to start the day.
