Ronnie was a good man and a friend to many in Longview. They aren't releasing much information yet on the shooter, but I doubt any lovers quarrel. I hope not anyway. He leaves 4 kids behind I believe, at least 3.

Rumors going around town are that it was a hit, one rumor was Lebanese mafia. I doubt they will ever find out who it was if it was a professional hit man.

The version I heard was Syrian mafia, lol.
I did get a 2nd hand account of how it went down from a co-worker who is a good friend of an eye-witness.....
- 3 or 4 of Horaney's kids and a friend were at the house playing board games
- older model (early 2000's) gold-colored sedan pulls up and buzzes the gate repeatedly
- Horaney walks out front door (w/o pistol) to see who it is
- kids go to front door to watch
- words exchanged at the gate and Horaney says something to the effect of "don't bring this sheet to my house...

Syrian makes mure sense, since I think he is Syrian. His wife's family is tied to Iranian royalty from what I understand. I also heard it was six shots and he said something like "that's what the **** you came here to complain about?". Funny how rumors work.

I've read news reports which state he had Lebanese ancestry, and others which state he had both Lebanese and Syrian ancestry.

I'm no history expert by any means, so take this with a grain of salt, but I believe the confusion often stems from most of that general area (Lebanon, Syria, Israel, Palestine) being called Syria until the Ottoman Empire fell after a World War I. So if the family immigrated before that time, you could be known as ethnically Lebanese from the Syrian region of the Ottoman Empire.

I see nobody brought up the fact Horaney had filed suit 5 weeks before because a body shop he paid $10K to took his money and kept his vehicle that was getting work done on (restoration work). After 2 years of waiting, he sued. The guy who was doing the work had a criminal record and history of assault.
Further the guy looked like the police sketch, jawline and all.
Serious incompetence with this investigation.

They raided the son's medical office this morning. He remarried his wife from 2016 just a few days before his father was arrested. Speculation is that it was to prevent her from being forced to testify against her husband.
One of the people on the facebook article said they had discussed this with police years ago and that the Doctor's wife wanted a divorce but was an immigrant and couldn't afford an attorney. She was friends with Ronnie's wife who begged Ronnie to pay for an attorney for her. He did and wound up dead.
Also heard that a former Texas Ranger was messing around with one of the wives shortly after the murder and that's likely why he is a "former" Texas Ranger.

Ronnie's murder was definitely a tragic loss for the community.
