I wonder how the cork is doing at their new location?

Never mind. I drove by last night, and the open sign was on.

Is TGIF's on its last leg? It seemed like it when I was eating lunch in there today?

Probably. You're the only person I've heard of that actually eats there.

First time in 2 years probably. The wife is a fan, or used to be. We went in at straight up noon and there were 10 people in there. Service was bad.

Lunch today? Sorry for the runs bro!

I've been here 8 year and never eaten there. Nor have I ever heard of anyone eating there. Can't believe it's still open.

What's their crowd (if they have one)? College crowd? Happy hour? Weekend mall overflow?

Tried to go last night and it was closed. Looked like they were cutting it but maybe a remodel?

Seems like a weird time to remodel but then again if that's what they're doing maybe it's a good time. I would think the week or two after Christmas are SLOW.

If they're closed, that strip is proving to be suicide for food places.

This one actually hurts me. I loved place. Had great margaritas and food. The owner wasn't smart about the move and terrible decision with the other restaurant causing this one to sink too.

We liked it too and had started going more often since the move since it was closer.

Broadway and Loop 323.

I think. It's been 8 years since I've lived there.

Ah. Its just never on my radar as a place to eat so I don't look for it.

Also saw that the Scroll is closing. The space next to it has been vacant since The Rack shut down in December 2013.

Can I add the Wok Box to the restaurant death pool? I have no idea how it stays open.

Charging $10 for a box of rice and some crappy chicken helps I'm sure.

They're one of the few quick service restaurants around 5th and Broadway so that might help. But I feel like I'm more likely to drive over to Peking than stop at wokbox.

I'm quite curious what happens to that retail center. It's dated and nothing survives outside of SteinMart and maybe the barbershop and an insurance agency.

Did you notice Chopstix by rounders already closed? It was sucking wind and there was someone else wanting to rent the space so they shut it down.

WokBox is complete crap. The precisely measured quantities may be what keeps it in business honestly. Once was enough for me to never go back. I want more than three pieces of meat. Chopstix kind of did the same thing. Advertised ingredients and you get two or three pieces of those in your bowl.

Maybe the owner of the shopping center pays WokBox to be there. That shopping center is a ghost town, and appears to be in the process of being remodeled for about 10 years.

maybe the Planned Parenthood protestors keep them in business

Got to talking with my grandmother (owned The Palace) about this post. What was your sister's name if you care to share on the board?
