Is there a decent place in town for wings beside BW's and Wing Stop?

I don't know but interested in others opinions on it. ETXs porch looks like good ones but haven't had them yet.

The wings at Mariscos were recommended to me by an Ag a few months ago.

Is that new on the menu I wonder? They redid the menu a year ago or so....

Interesting.

Anyone tried the new Pokebop place in the shopping center on the south side of Fresh?

Sitting here in Pazzeria by Pietro's on the square. In the old Subway spot. Highly recommend it. I had the Quatro Stagioni pizza. So good.

I don't eat anywhere north of 5th street

I ventured south of 5th street today to the grove. Their chicken fried steak on the brunch menu is the best CFS I've ever had. Instead of cream gravy they use a combo avocado dressing and balsamic vinaigrette dressing, and topped with a fried egg.

Try the smoked nachos from the smoke shack at The Grove. They are amazing. You can get them I'm the bar which has a pretty great atmosphere.

I hear they're changing the Smoke Shack into a pizza place, true?

I just drove by it about 15 min ago. I could be on crack but I'm 99% sure I saw it correctly.

Yes - I saw it too on Monday. I was surprised.

Looking at the website - I gather First Watch is Dallas based. Has about 6 locations - Dallas, Tyler, Shreveport.

Fancy breakfast.

It ain't The Kettle, that's for sure. Too bad. I don't mind my pancakes, bacon, and coffee with a hint of a Marlboro hanging in the air. That always reminds me of my granny's house.

Several Egg and I locations in Houston sold out to First Watch, so probably the same for Tyler location.

They were bought out a few months ago but were waiting to change the sign. Changed a few menu items awhile back.

First watch isn't bad stuff. There's one in CS that normally has a line unless school is out.

Just got back from breakfast at First Watch. It was pretty good. Sampling of avocado toast, eggs and granola pancakes. All of the tables were full. I think it is a little better than the other place.

Have now been to Manny's. It was meh. Don't sit on the patio - the backs of the metal chairs are better reclined for drinking than eating.

We were so disappointed in Manny's. The food was very mediocre without any of the old tastes of the original El Charo or even 5th street location.

The Stand in Gresham has closed - was Aggie owned.

Edit: apparently I got bad intel. Still open.

Hate that for him but man, a hotdog stand in Gresham is a tough hill to climb. Lolos probably hurts it as well. I'd rather grab a sandwich from there 9/10 times if I'm in that area.

That's a shame. My kids always liked the hotdogs, so we would get them dogs from The Stand, and Lola's for ourselves. The Stand always used to put a piece of bubble gum in the bag which I appreciated.

And yes, I recognize I have failed as a parent since my kids don't like Lola's
