Wife has a 2020 Ford Expedition with power running boards. We have had the car for a few years but recently the passenger side won't go up sometimes. It happens in phases where it works but then doesn't for awhile. Any ideas what may be causing that? I have tried oiling the hinge points but didn't seem to make much difference. Thanks in advance!

Might be worth checking the wiring between the lower steps to verify all of that is in good condition and no exposed wiring.

Other than that I would assume motor.

I have two trucks with the electric running boards. The motors wear out over time.

These folding boards need the hinges flushed with a WD40 or PB blast and lubricated with something like White lithium grease or something with PTFE on a regular basis.
