1977 C-10 Bought this wonderful girl a month after I turned 17. $450 running...bought it as a project truck and built it to better working condition while driving my dad's to school...still own it, still drive it for fun.

2002 C1500 Needed something a little less rough and loud for certain occasions...like driving across Texas, and dates.

how's that for a short list...

Hey Speedbird - started low (Chevette), got better in a hurry, huh? BMW 2002 was one of my early favorites. Loved the tall cabin.

Yep, the 2002 is still my all time favorite. Looking for one now to be a daily driver.

1973 F100 in 1981- Work truck my dad said was too beat up for the crews, but just right for a 15 year old.

1980 F150 in 1982 - Dad got this for me to replace other truck. SWB, but I thought I needed 4x4.

1982 J-10 Jeep Truck at Christmas 1982 - Dad made alot of money wiring drilling rigs, so he told me to choose my present. I could have bought anything, but found this in Midland sitting on blocks at the dealership. Engine jumped time at 44k. Rebuilt engine, lifted and drove until I got out of A&M.

1940 Ford Truck in 1987 - Me and my dad chopped a truck and painted it red. We started this project in 1980. 302 with auto and ac. Nice little truck, but all of the body work was bondo and red oxide primer. The bodywork started to crack so we sold it in 1990. I started a 1948 Ford 2-dr sedan and still need to finish it.

1989 C3500 Supercab in 1989 - I had to have a 454. Good solid truck.

1987 K5 Blazer 4x4 in 1993 - Bought this crashed for wife. Put on a new front end and drove until the wife had kid #1. Had to get rid of this one because it was tall and she is not. Too hard to get the baby in and out.

1995 K3500 Crew-cab in late 1995 - 454, red with new interior. Had to get back in a 4x4.

1995 S-10 4 dr Blazer in 1995 - Traded wife's K-5 Blazer for this one. Good fuel economy. Should have kept this one.

1997 K3500 Crew-cab in late 1997 - Traded a 1995 45K truck because I had to have that new vortec engine and red leather. Bad, bad, bad! The engine always lost coolant and the chevy house could not figure it out. I went from 14 mpg truck to this 10 mpg one. At 85k, the intake gasket started leaking externally. Found out the gasket had been misaligned and had been washing down on cylinder since new.

2000 F250 4x4 Crew-cab in 2000 - Finally got a Powerstroke. First stick and hated it. Loved the Powerstroke. Made a work truck out of it. I would still have it, but my banker decided I needed to sell it, the SOB, in 2006.

2001 GMC Yukon XL in 2001 - Traded our S-10 Blazer, because there was not enough room for the traveling circus with kid #2. What a POS. Poor - performance, fuel economy, ride, fuel pumps ...

2002 F350 4x4 Crew-cab in 2002 - Current driver. I love the 7.3 L powerstroke. No problems, with regular maintenance.

2006 Chevy HHR in late 2005 - Kick ass little car. I love the retro 48 chevy carry-all styling. I only has a 4 banger, but it gets 29 mpg and is comfortable for me, 6'3" and 290, to drive. Got rid of the POS Yukon XL for this cream puff.

Next - I don't see anything I need. Am I getting old?

96 Silverado- Loved it but became a money hole.

00- Accord- Hate the small car, but love the gas mileage.

87 Volvo 240 GL- First car. My parents bought in 87 new and gave it to me to drive in 95 at age 16. Drove until 97 when I got my truck. Parents kept it until 99 and then sold it. Great car and very dependable. Wish I still had it today.

96 C1500 Silverado- Went to college in it in 97 and still running it today at 201,623 miles as of this morning. Sure, I've spent a bunch on maintenance and a 2nd engine, but plan on running it up to at least 300M.

1971 Chevrolet C-10 Pickup

1965 Mustang Bought this car for $600 when I was 13yo. Spent a couple years restoring it bit by bit as I made enough money to work on it. Will likely never sell this car.

1985 Mustang GT Convertible Bought this car for $5500 in 1988 w/ about 80,000 miles on it. Sold it in 1997 for $4800 w/ 330,000 miles on it! Never had any problems with it and I drove it hard.

1992 Porsche 968 Convertible Had this since 1997. Great fun car overall, but has begun to show it's age with a gremlin or two. Putting this up for sale as soon as I fix up a couple of the small problems.

2004 BMW M3 Convertible Just purchased this. Love it so far.

1979 Chevy Camero Z-28... black on black. loved this car. Bought it used my sophmore yr in HS. Owned it for 6 years.

1988 Ford T-Bird Turbo Coupe - maroon/maroon. Nice ride too, until my wife borrowed it one day to drive to work (her car had a flat)... she totalled it on I-45 in H-town.

1991 Nissan Maxima SE

1994 Mazda Navajo - basically a 2-door Explorer with Mazda nametag.

1995 Toyota Camry LE - zero problems

1999 Dodge Intrepid - silver/silver. Nice comfortable. Good gas mileage. Had a few minor issues at first. But the worst problem was power window motors kept frying, windows stuck! Over and over and over!

2004 Ford Expedition XLT - a few big problems at first, my rear axle/gear (?) had to be replaced, grinding noise. All 4 of my Continental tires had to be replaced after a week, bad vibration at 72mph. Found out that all 4 tires were out-of-round. 6CD changer indash broke. Had to be replaced. All this in the first few months. Been fine ever since.

1984 Z28 Chevy Camaro- Still currently own it. Its been a good car. Nearing 200k 305 V8

1972 Z28 Chevy Camaro- I miss this car. Sold it to a coworker/freind when I was in the US Navy. had a 350 V8 with edlebrock goodies

1999 Chevy S-10 Extrem Good truck, had the 4.3 V-6 it was black and it got traded in

2001 Z28 Chevy Camaro LS1 5.7L Dumped about 8k dollars into this car making it a VERY fast car. Would lift the front tires off the ground at a race track and damn near off the pavement while on the street. I kept really low miles on it and then screw up by selling to my cousin. Best car I ever owned probably

1996 Mercury Mystique - My first car. Got it in high school and it stayed in the shop for most of the 3 years I drove it. Biggest POS ever.

2001 Ford F150 Single Cab 4.2L V-6 - Got this my sophomore year at A&M. Great truck and it took a beating. Ran great and never had to do anything to it but change the oil.

2005 Dodge Ram - Got this the summer of '05. It has the HEMI but it gets better gas mileage than my single cab Ford did. Still an awesome truck that will pull just about anything and I have had no mechanical problems as of yet. I already have over 36k miles on it.

1964-1/2 Mustang Convertible -- loved this car. Got nervous driving it to school though. I worried about it being vandalized -- lost 2 sets of hubcaps off of it.
1979 Nissan 280Z -- fun car. I abused this baby, and it still ran well.
1984 Nissan 300Z -- only "new" car on this list. Picked every option I wanted. Loved it. Dumped it when the digitial dash and the A/C started acting up.
1990 Ford Bronco -- solid vehicle. I was disappointed when Ford quit building the Bronco, because I think the Expedition isn't as cool.
1993 Infinti Q45 -- possible the best built car I've had. The early Infinitis were practically handmade. Bought this CPO in 1996 at 55k miles. Put another 105k on it.
1999 Lexus LS400 -- Not quite as sporty as the Infiniti, but very polished. Another CPO purchase. Bought it with 36k miles on it and have put 115k more (and counting) on it. Runs like a champ!

Wow, some of you have owned quite a few vehicles! I'm 38 and I just bought my 3rd one 4 months ago.

Didn't own one in high school or at A&M....though I did "borrow" a Toyota pickup from my parents for a year.

93 Ford Ranger Supercab XLT...good truck, 185K. I shed a tear when I said goodbye and traded it in.
99 F-150 Supercab XLT ...even better truck, 195K
06 F-150 Supercab Lariat...current ride

1986 Nissan Sentra SE Not a bad first car. Reliable, decently quick for a little 4-banger. Had to sell to pay for a semester of college when I got in a bind.

1979 Ford Pinto Station Wagon Complete and utter POS, but it was free because one of my uncles got it in some kind of trade and then gave it to me so I would have something to drive. Drove it for 4 months. I didn't get laid a whole lot for those four months...

1985 Mustang Great little car. Fast enough at the time. Finally died when it threw a rod.

1968 Mustang Beautiful red 289 that is still my baby. With any luck, one of my kids will get it when I die.

2003 Mustang Mach 1 315 hp in what was up to that point, one of the fastest factory mustangs ever built. It's my daily driver and I absolutely love it.

2006 Acura TSX Wife's car. For a four-cylinder passenger car, very nice. Very technologically impressive.

edit: forgot about one. The wife has a 1956 Thunderbird that has been passed down. It's currently sitting in storage in Texas, but at some point, I plan on restoring it.

This one's actually my dad's, but I'm doing most of the work on it. We brought it into my workshop yesterday. 1947 Ford 2 1/2 ton truck. 239 flathead v8, 20" dual wheels, 14' bed with hydraulic dump. Picked it up in Kansas, the truck's body is almost perfect, no rust. The bed is in pretty rough shape and looks a little awkward. I need to service the engine out, get it tuned up and running perfectly. Then I'm going to pull the bed off and junk it, compound the paint a little and repaint a little of the trim. Going to build a bed on it that looks a little better - 11' bed, a little narrower and lower so it doesn't look so goofy.

That sounds like a fun project, Bandit.

My Dad's list is a fun one, but it's awfully long... and it's not mine, so I'll bite my tongue. I'll just say his is nearly all pre-1957 and now is all pre-1948. Well...except the '55 Stude he's wanting to build.

1988 Toyota 4WD Awesome Truck. Wrecked it.

1984 Jeep CJ 7 Awesome! Wrecked it.

2001 Jeep Wrangler Sport. First Vehicle I bought new. Sold it because it was yellow. It looked good at the dealership although I started to hate it because it was yellow.

2003 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon. To this day my dad cusses me out for buying a Jeep Wrangler with a sticker price of 30K Although I talked them way down and sold my previous jeep for alot. Financed 18k and only have seven payments left. If I wasen't so close to paying it off I would consider getting that new FJ. Although I hate the current colors.

I'm also close to buying a 1975 Ford Bronco to fix up. This is a pic of a 1975 Bronco (not the one I'm buying. The one I'm buying is not nearly in this good of shape:

1998 Dodge Ram 1500--good truck when I got it, however I was 16 at the time and I pretty much ruined it.

1997 Ford Mustang Cobra-- Fun car for awhile, started breaking down and I got tired of squeezing in and out of it. Dumb purchase but you only live once.

2002 Dodge Ram Quad Cab-- Driving it now and trying to get rid of it- $11000 w/ 68000 miles, any takers?

25, and only 2 vehicles so far:

1983 Toyota 4WD Pickup - original owner (Navy Seal) bought it off the assembly line in Japan, had it shipped to US. He lifted it and put in a bunch of other stuff, then gave it to his mother in '96 or '97. She gave it to me in '00. I drove it for 3 years at A&M, then the clutch went out right before I graduated. Ford dealership said they'd give me a can of coke for it, so I kept it for a toy and eventually got a new clutch. Since then, I've probably had about half a dozen offers for it. Now it's in California as one of our primary vehicles, and is getting tuned up to pass the smog check. Only has 162,000 miles. Just met a guy with an '81 and about 460,000 miles on it!

2003 Dodge Dakota - bought it when the Toyota's clutch went out. Loved the A/C! Actually, I really have been very happy with it, and haven't had any problems so far (knock on wood). Passed smog check with no problems - phew!
