So I had my pull-up bar hanging in one of our door jams at home. Not permanently mounted, just one that braces in the door jam. Last night our 3 year old was intent on shutting the door. The bar fell on him, giving him a good cut under his eye.

Fortunately dermabond worked to close it up, and no stitches were needed. Also fortunate it didn't hurt his head or cut his eye. He's a little swollen and bruised, but taking it like a champ. Looks like a boxer who's been cut.

So I don't have to sleep on the couch, I've resisted making any "don't worry; chicks dig scars" comments around my wife.

I have to take mine down or I hit my head on it.

I'd had 7 stitches (two different incidents) and my tonsils out by the time I was 2. Your kid is on the slow boat.

Something log something something.

I'll just tell him on Friday when I see him and he isn't holding a gun.

I never liked the idea of doorway pull-up bars due to stability concerns.

Being a bachelor, I got myself an actual pull-up stand for my apartment. Got a cathedral roof/ceiling, so it's nice and fancy. Bonus perk: added some gymnastic rings.
