Only afterwards did most of us pass out early for the night.

Um...by any chance did you pass out before your wife did?

I was there. That's why Jackie is so revered. When he got the Ags to the big game he was able to win them (2 of 3 Cotton Bowls). And let's be honest...the Ags did not have a great offense in 87 (unlike the 85 & 86 teams with Kevin Murray)

that ND team won the national championship the following year

Bucky Richardson led that team. He wouldn't get a snap in Sherman's system because he wasn't a pro-style QB, but he was a winner and would do anything possible to stomp our opposition. There is no substitute for passion.

Alive? I was on my third coaching job by then. Don't remember the game, but 1988 was pretty damn good.

Yes, I was 22... it was a very good year.

Hopefully when the Ags win their second national championship, I won't already be 6' under.

I was 14. I remember it like yesterday. Tim Brown Towel incident. If you would have told me that the next 23 years would be like this. Then..

Tim Brown and the towel!!!! ROTFLMAO! What a poooooosay he turned out to be.

I was going insane watching that game. My Berkely educated hubby at the time (he died later that year) had never seen that side of me. He was happy if I was happy, but he was surprised at how his conservative lawyer wife could go apes*** over a college football game.

(But he was from Berkely, football wasn't his strongest suit, God rest his soul. He had other, ahem, shall we say, ahem, compensating qualities.)

I was there, freezing my azz off in the endzone. I watched the game when I got home later (on VHS for those that remember tape) and recall Musberger signing off with something like "We'll see you next year when Jackie Sherrill and his Texas Aggies set sail for a national championship." Unfortunately, it was the other team on the field that won the MNC the next year.

I think old Ag benson is trying to set a record for dumbest, most uninformed series of posts in a single day.

Keep it up old Ag. You are embarrassing everyone!

The truth hurts, but I'd rather know the truth, good or bad, than live a lie or hide from the truth.

"Tim Brown and the towel!!!! ROTFLMAO! What a poooooosay he turned out to be"

16 year NFL career with 9 Pro-bowls

I would doubt we have anyone to match that resume

I was alive...but a toddler. Sorry folks, apparently I'm the curse to our football program. Do with me what you must
