My sister is a teacher at DeSoto high school, and is also a breast cancer survivor. She can tell you almost exactly the same story.
I have multiple pictures of Von and her on my Facebook page, and she has a signed jersey among many other souveniers.
Von's mother is in DeSoto's Administration and definitely taught him right.
