$1MM guaranteed with bonuses for winning:

$25,000 for a W
$50,000 for a top 25 W
$100,000 for a top 10 W
$1,000,000 for a #1 W
$1,000,000 for a NCAA title.

Year by year.

If you aren't satisfied, try someone else.

So you want a coach to come here for approximately 1.7mm per year?

You should be really rewarded for good years. Not like the $3M max you are offering here.

I do think an incentive laden contract would be appealing to coaches. A bad year people aren't grumbling that you are stealing $8M more than you are worth, can be appealing in press conferences that you are hungry and looking forward to the rewards of getting the ship righted, etc... A NC should be paying out $12+M. Keeps the seat less hot.

Call the athletic department and let them know. I'm sure you know you can't win if you don't enter the contest! Send them a resume! Best of luck!

Yes, coaching is fun. But you cannot make a lot of money in this industry. It's too competitive. My dad was a coach. Honestly, we were not a wealthy family. This is why I have decided to do something else with my life, and now I am looking for the insurance jobs available in Tucson. I believe that in this industry, you can make money and succeed.

On my most recent "move" I found my first coaching contract. In 1982, I was paid a whopping $18,900.00. 7th grade football in the morning, 9th grade football in the afternoon, and asst baseball in the Spring. I thought I was rich!
